I don't like using "them" for a single person because it's plural and it sounds terrible when used as singular.
So my solution is just not to talk to or about those people ever
Call everyone dude or bro.

Anyone who says dude isn't a gender neutral term is completely wrong

Bro might as well be gender neutral as well at this point.

i've literally never been called dude without a masculine inflection, nor has anyone I know personally.
so no not really.

infact more recently the times i've been called dude there's been emphasis on the word to make me feel bad about being trans.

There's no female counterpart to 'dude', so therefore it is gender neutral :v:
('dudette' doesn't count)

I wouldn't say that it's entirely masculine, nor entirely gender-neutral. It really depends on who's saying it.
Me, for instance. I call everybody dude and the only time I don't is when somebody asks me not to, because I've grown up with it being a general term to refer to somebody. I don't use it to say stuff like "You're a dude," I use it to say stuff like "Dude, check out this video." or "Duuuuuuude."
I really feel bad that people have used that to put you down, though.
this is pretty cool for the people who want it, but sometimes I'm really put off by people who insist on a specific set of pronouns that aren't there for much other than to be new pronouns. I understand neutral ones but some people go way overboard on stuff.
still, if it's what makes you more comfortable with representing yourself, all the power to you. The only self-identifying thing I refuse to believe is anything but an elaborate ruse is this weird sect of people some friends of mine found where they identify with conditions they don't have, IE person who doesn't need glasses identifying as short sighted, people with fully functional legs considering themselves paraplegic, etc. There's even "trans-fat", aka 'fat person trapped in a skinny body, who wants to be treated as if they're obese despite their physical appearance'.
The thing about body parts is measurable irrc, apparently some people's brains don't identify them as belonging to them.
The fake eye issues stuff is weird though.
This really doesn't affect me. I see no purpose in not having it.

This is essentially how I use it and see it being used. I've also seen it used by women to refer to other women.
What's a woman?
I thought androgynous referred to someone who has a rather genderless appearance and not a gender? Or did something change when I wasn't looking?
Some of those people don't identify as either men or women.
"But they're different so fuck them."
