agentfaze backed out faster than you can say backpedalling.
Good job derailing a thread by admitting your wife is a dangerous driver, lying to your insurance company and then call them scammers.
Anyway, good on the guy for stopping the car and preventing an accident. Great to see Tesla will pay for the repairs too.
Not criminal. They give you a ticket bud. They don't arrest you.

They don't know that part.
Nope it is criminal. A ticket is a complaint and notice to appear. The officer is issuing the complaint on behalf of the state. You are being given a notice to appear in court before a judge. You can pay the fine up front and avoid appearing, but you are still guilty of a misdemeanor. We don't categorize them as the same thing mentally, but they are.
Cops don't officially handle civil shit. Deputies may serve civil papers, but in terms of direct involvement, they stay away.
I bought a cheap-ass "Slick black BLUE LED DIGITAL DISPLAY with BT, USB, CD, AUX" stereo from amazon and it works for past 2 years. (Bought it for 30 Euro)
solves all problems, expected it to be complete shit but it even has built in mic and hands free on it works perfect, allows to accept calls, switch songs, pause them etc...
Also another option is to enable voice commands when you're driving, I was once driving and had Google Maps open (google maps has voice listening enabled while in Google Maps navigation by default), so you can say: "Ok Google, next song, previous song, play/pause"
It's a bit flawed though - when song is playing loud in car - you need to scream your lungs out to say ok Google for it to hear.
Maybe in the long run but it is actually more harmful to create new cars due to the manufacturing processes and the use of materials. It would actually be more eco friendly to buy a used EV.
You have to make the EVs before you can buy used EVs. Also, Tesla's have a slightly higher carbon footprint in production, but it doesn't come anywhere close to the overall when you consider fuel production and emissions.

Switching everyone to EVs in a forthnight would be bad yes, but it's not whats going to happen. People will buy new cars regardless, and by buying EVs rather than normal carbon emission cars is where you're doing the change.
meanwhile in poland switching lanes on the highway is considered some kind of next level shit apparently because not even our fucking designated government drivers manage to pull it off without crashing into every car in a 40 meter radius

Would it work with an iPhone? I might look into that cuz I get a lot of work calls when I'm traveling and I'd like to be able to answer hands free without fumbling for the phone speaker button and being dangerous about it.

Not sure how it works on iphone, but with android and a bluetooth speaker/headset you don't need to press the phone speaker button.

Another option, especially given how no average joe stands a snowball's in hell of affording a Tesla, is to simply not replace your car every five years. As an added bonus you won't be in quite as much debt! It's great! Even built-to-warranty modern cars will live 15-20 years with reasonable maintenance before anything major shits the bed, so why throw it away and get a new one when it still has 75% of its useful life left in it?

Even then emissions from drivers is a small part of the bigger issue. Deforestation, melting ice caps which release trapped gasses, manufacturing industry, construction industry, even peoples personal habits have more affects on carbon footprint and sustainability - such as do you eat meat? Do you use a lot of plastic products? Do you re-sell or recycle old tech or throw it away? Does your food come prepackedage from a factory far away? Things like that.

Somewhat. It's not to say that EVs aren't important. But people needn't smugly think that their work is done and that they've saved the world by buying one.
Insurance companies SUCK in the US. My wife was playing on her phone and hit two people within like two months or something over the summer, not even real damage. The first accident didn't even need to go thru insurance, but the asshole she hit reported it...and his truck was without a scratch. My insurance went, in November, from $374 a month (which was already outrageous) to $671 a month. No crazy high end supercars either. Hers is a 2013 Elantra and mine is a 2013 Civic Si. Insurance is just a legalized scam intended to do nothing but rip the people off you're there to help, allegedly.
Dude I know, tell me about it. One time I had my Autoblow 2 hooked up to a 120v power plug on my dash and I had it on my dick while I was doing 90mph down the highway. At the same time I was also eating a chimichanga and I was streaming my favorite college football game on my Google Glass.
I hit some homeless fucker and killed him. I just kept driving though. Eventually I noticed someone was following me who saw me hit that guy. What the fuck? Who cares about a homeless guy? Well anyway, eventually I had a cop on me. He pulled me over and as he was asking for my license and registration I started cumming into my self service automatic masturbation machine. The cop stepped back, disgusted by my activity, and told me to turn off the device immediately. I was still cumming and I told him to wait. Then he pulled a gun on me and I had no choice. I took it off and started spraying jizz everywhere, allover myself and it even got on my chimichanga (which I now couldn't eat, thanks to the filthy pig).
He arrested me on the spot and even gave me multiple charges of public indecency even though I was in my own car and not in public! I had a good lawyer and my time went from 10 years in prison to one year of community service for acting to be retarded.
I was completely dropped from my insurance provider after this. What the fuck is the point of having insurance if they don't even pay for anything when you need them? Damn kikes, the lot of them.

I am not sure to be honest.
I have friends with iPhones who when are in my car - fight over who controls BT, and once my friends phone started ringing and we could hear her caller in whole car, so I guess it does?

Don't you mean [sp]totaled?[/sp]
he hasn't even come back to facepunch since the initial roasting
Anyways, to somewhat further derail the topic, the fact that people like agentfazexx and his wife are far from uncommon is exactly why we need autonomous cars as soon as fucking possible.
Driving in front of an uncontrollable car is the last thing I'd want to do. Glad they came out fine. It easily could have
resulted in two deaths.

It sucks because it ruins it for people like me who enjoy driving and dont drive like morons
It sucks because it ruins it for people like me who enjoy driving and dont drive like morons
I'd like to think that the mere availability of autonomous cars would substantially reduce accidents by at least providing an option for those people who actively want to do things other than safely handle a multi-ton vehicle, like agentfazexx's negligent wife. It's not people who enjoy driving who concern me, it's people who're trying to do things other than drive.

You're right.
You should drop insurance for your wife because she shouldn't even be allowed to drive.

What would be the point? The guy already benefited from the whole situation by not plowing into something and dying.

Yeah and since he had a stroke behind the wheels it's unlikely he'll be driving a car anytime soon...
Holy shit he was actually serious. In that case, I'd say some thread music would be appropriate.

His wife crashed through the garage and destroyed the router.
