wtf why are they talking about muslims
Its fox news. They hate every belief that isnt theres.
It was Anti-Catholic, not Anti-Christian. Also I found the joke tastless
Really? I wouldn't say tasteless. I found the content of the commercial rather cheesy, to be honest. Not the kind of lip smacker you'd expect, but something to get you nibbling off the tips of your fingers.
I bet you guys would get pissed if this was mocking Atheism, or what ever angsty teenagers like to believe in these days.
This... If it was anti-homosexual, anti-Israeli ... etc... etc... every other 12 year old on Facepunch who was forced by mommy to dress up for church when they were young, and didn't like it would be all over it (as they are now). However small or "anti-anything" it was... ... you guys are biased hypocrites it's pathetic. AND IT IS. Mocking Catholicism... re-enacting the "Bread of Life" or "Eucharist" at the alter as a bag of Doritos is extremely sacrilegious. -Not a Catholic
Oh god I am tired of hearing this. (No pun intended) I am a Catholic. I believe Jesus Christ existed. I believe Jesus Christ was the predicted messiah of the Jewish faith. I therefore am also a Christian.
I think the intention of the comment was not to insinuate that Catholicism doesn't fit under the umbrella of Christianity, but that it's simply that: a subset that doesn't represent the whole.
But really when posters use the word angst as an argument then you know they cant come up with a real reason for why something is wrong.
I could have said plenty of different things. I discovered facepunch is full of angry people who would defend their ego and beliefs to the death. [editline]5th January 2011[/editline]
Why are you such an awful fucking poster Everything you post is just stupid.
I'll try and improve my posting to your obviously godly standards sir.
Neither... more like a sense of respect. Half the people on here speak of personal opinions, and beliefs (mainly Atheism)... but have no respect for others and usually find it easy to throw their own against others... the rest of everyone on here is no different than me... don't attempt to single just ME out like that.

I didn't hear anything similar to "Catholicism is bad".
Except that it's not anti-catholic. I didn't hear anything similar to "Catholicism is bad".
Saying that Doritos should represent the concept of the Last Supper? The bread a Priest places on someone's tongue at the alter (or however they wish to deliver it) is representative of the body of Christ. You're saying Doritos... lol Doritos representing God isn't a mockery?
I dislike Fox News, but it seemed like they were making fun of the guy against the commercial to me.
I love the logic they use here. Butthurt guest: "Oh yeah uh... I find the video offensive!" Cool guest: "But they're not even mocking anyone!" Butthurt guest: "Well could you imagine the outcry it'd create if it were mocking Islam?" Everyone: ... Circular arguments like this are even worse than listening to an Atheist!
Why the fuck has this been derailed from Doritos to fox news? What is with you guys and fox news? Yes it's bad, end of story.
You're saying Doritos... lol Doritos representing God isn't a mockery?
I find the fictional scenario of a Catholic priest replacing the metaphorical body of Christ with a common baked snack to be very funny. If this was a petition to replace the bread with Doritos, I'd agree with you. But it's a commercial that is meant to entertain, not insult.
Hang on if i get this right, if i become a christian priest i can eat all the doritos i want?
Hang on if i get this right, if i become a christian priest i can eat all the doritos i want?
catholic but yes
it's a joke if atheists had silly rituals i wouldn't be up in arms when doritos joked about them
Atheists do have silly rituals. We go on the internet and circlejerk to science will laughing maniacally about religious people.
this. I discovered facepunch is full of angry people who would defend their ego and beliefs to the death. [
Yea thats how the whole world is except on facepunch people dont kill people because they think differently and i would say logic has a bigger chance of pulling though her then in most places in the world.
Atheists do have silly rituals. We go on the internet and circlejerk to science will laughing maniacally about religious people.
This has "winner, zing, and friendly" written all over it lol

It does not display a negative theme about the Catholic faith.
This has "winner, zing, and friendly" written all over it lol
he's not on your side, moron and yes, if there was an ad for an isp that showed their new service as faster for atheists to circlejerk on the internet, i'd laugh at it
I'm Christian, and I don't see what's so offensive about it. I thought it was pretty creative and funny.
he's not on your side, moron and yes, if there was an ad for an isp that showed their new service as faster for atheists to circlejerk on the internet, i'd laugh at it
I'm aware and that was the point... "moron"
it's a joke if atheists had silly rituals i wouldn't be up in arms when doritos joked about them
Since when do atheists have silly rituals? Or rituals at all for that matter? [editline]5th January 2011[/editline]
he's not on your side, moron and yes, if there was an ad for an isp that showed their new service as faster for atheists to circlejerk on the internet, i'd laugh at it
Somebody missed the obvious joke.
Since when do atheists have silly rituals? Or rituals at all for that matter?
looks like we have a winner everyone if doritos made an ad in a majority muslim country where the muezzin of a mosque calls all his followers to eat doritos, i'd guarantee that we'd see less of a reaction
I'm Christian, and I don't see what's so offensive about it. I thought it was pretty creative and funny.
Wasn't that creative,Really cheesy actually.
I think that if you want to avoid offending people, keep political and religious things away from Commercials and billboards and the such. Someone will bitch and then everyone will waste their time arguing about menial things when in reality, all we are doing is getting some weird subliminal advertising stuck in our heads for Doritos.
Atheists do have silly rituals. We go on the internet and circlejerk to science will laughing maniacally about religious people.
Protip: atheism means less to an atheist than christianity does to a christian edit: usually
I think that was quite hilarious actually. Freedom of Speech, fuck the church and whatever they say. We have a right to say whatever we like.
