The way I see it even with those tapes is the GOP just trying to smear Hillary Clinton. This doesn't matter anyways this is all the way back in 1975, people change and grow, you can't really claim that the Hillary Clinton back then is the same one that is right now. It's been motherfucking 39 years.
Here is a well done ABC article on it. I personally don't have a problem with FOX, the articles on their site tend to be well done, especially the Business portion. FOX Nation is an entirely different beast, though.

With another presidential run her history is going to come up again and it runs a lot deeper than just this. Not that any politician doesn't usually have a history, they all, especially the successful ones, have a tendency to be Machiavellian slimy scumbags that are good at putting on a charismatic face. But her handling of certain situations in particular might be particularly damning.
No it fucking isn't. That is not the "best possible defense". If the best defense you can come up with is basically "she was asking for it" then you're a terrible lawyer and a terrible person.
I'm not going to say that it's totally okay or whatever, but when your client actually appears to have done the crime as described, the best defence is probably something like that. As a defense lawyer your job is to do everything (legal) to get the shortest sentence possible, because the prosecutor will do exactly the same just in reverse.
