God, there's such a bandwagon to hate on him. Sure, he's not a word-smith, but all he said was: "I hope she would have liked me." He's just a kid who's pretty much been brought up in a weird life. And if you had read her diary once, you realise she'd be the kind of girl who would've liked Bieber.
... Not really.
She was just a normal girl in an unfortunate position. Guess who most normal girls in the West happen to like? Bieber.
And if you had read her diary once, you realise she'd be the kind of girl who would've liked Bieber.
surely this is the most bizarre thing ive read on this website "reading anne frank's diary just once you realise she'd be the kind of girl who would've liked bieber"
surely this is the most bizarre thing ive read on this website "reading anne frank's diary just once you realise she'd be the kind of girl who would've liked bieber"
I suppose he's right. If you kinda skimmed it half-heartedly once a few years back, you might think so. However, if you actually read the god damn book, you'd realize how stupid you are. :v:
reading anne frank you realise how incredibly smart she was and how much of a loss was inflicted upon the world by being deprived of someone who would have developed into an incredible author one day who the fuck cares about bieber at that point
asshole.
What in the everloving fuck. This is incredibly dumb, even for him. This would've faced a backlash even if Michael Jackson did this. Hell, any public figure really.
I don't know where you are from, but in America 19 is hardly an age to consider someone an adult..... Hell it isn't uncommon for people to remain children almost into their 30s. Most people around 23-25 figure it out, some just never catch on.
In georgia at least you are trailed as an adult for crimes, i would say 16 is the age of "cut the bullshit and act like an adult".
People are overreacting big time to this. The full message was "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber." It's a little self centred and perhaps even stupid... but it's not offensive. The first part is even generically endearing perhaps. Everybody needs to stop being so pedantic. It's quite clear he was trying to say that he would be proud to call her a fan if she were alive today, and the ironic thing is... she probably would have been, given that pretty much all teenage girls fucking love Bieber. It's not a big deal, in the slightest. Get back to your knitting.
I like how everyone is blowing this way out of proportion just because it's Justin Bieber.

With such a poor overall education amongst 18 years old in the US, I'm not surprised they're not considered adult. In Europe (well, most countries I know of), you officially reach adulthood at age 18, I'd say the majority really reaches it at 20.
And this biggoted dipshit is the role model for hundreds of thousands if not millions of young impressionable girls and dipshit guys who's balls haven't even dropped. Yay for this generation.
Lmao you think previous generations had better rolemodels? Did you conveniently forget your parents probably grew up looking at 100 justin bieber alikes that came and went on MTV? How about Sid vicious? Motley Crue? You think those guys were good role models? It's unfathomable to me how people think celebrity culture is a new thing, or that young girls losing their fucking minds over their pop idol is somehow unique to this generation.

I didn't hate jb, only his songs jb you've changed my mind for the worse
And if you had read her diary once, you realise she'd be the kind of girl who would've liked Bieber.
That's just full on insulting Anne Frank.
Well the article does say that the tour guide said she was a fan of pop culture in her time, which then influenced him to write what he did. He also took the time out of his life to visit, so there's that.

The sad thing about this isn't the tweet, it's the fact that about half those followers don't know who that is.
The sad thing about this isn't the tweet, it's the fact that about half those followers don't know who that is.
"Hey mom? Who the heck is Anne Frank?" "I don't know sweetie, but she sounds like an idiot"
"Hey mom? Who the heck is Anne Frank?" "I don't know sweetie, but she sounds like an idiot"
"what kind of name is Frank? I bet she wasn't even a real girl"
No, and there's other role models in this world beside him too, y'know? :v: I'm not saying he's the ONLY role model but he just as self centered and annoying as previous generations. That said, just because "My parents" witnessed 100 Justin alikes doesn't give him a free pass to be a biggot. ᶠʸᶦ ᴵ ʷᵃˢ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ
How the fuck is he being a bigot? Are you mentally deficient or do you just use words you don't understand?

Someone should castrate him. Because why not.
I agree, at least he has a shred of talent. Would you rather Rebecca Black say the same thing? Honestly?
I honestly think that most people are just flipping out about this because they already hate Justin Bieber for getting more 12 year old girls than them
I'm Jewish and I'm not surprised this happened.
On rape: “I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason”
He also said that being gay is a choice.
On rape: “I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason”
I thought he was misquoted.
I honestly think that most people are just flipping out about this because they already hate Justin Bieber for getting more 12 year old girls than them
sorry, bro I ain't no pedo
I just love the fact that you guys are really trying to figure out if she would have been one or not. This whole thing is stupid he shouldn't have written what he did but it's fucking Justin Bieber the king of all douches. It's like trying to tell wood to not be hard. You got to kinda of heat it up a bit before it cools back down. [sp]I honestly don't know where I was going with that comparison but it was so dam funny I couldn't help it.[/sp]

Get back to your knitting.
While I agree that it'd be foolish to be offended by such a story, the comment is ridiculous on so many levels and he deserves to be ridiculed for it. It's absurdly self-centred and illustrates that even the tragic story of Anne Frank is not enough to take his mind off of his own success. He's essentially hijacked Anne Frank for his own publicity without any thought of the repercussions - I imagine the signature will soon be surrounded by lovestruck girls names or worse, the page will be stolen. If he truly wanted to learn about Anne Frank and raise awareness he could start by reading her diary (which I'd bet he has no intention of doing) and perhaps refrain from shamelessly plugging himself in the museums diary and instead focus on raising awareness of her story. The naivety is cringe-worthy for a high-profile "role model" who has apparently just spent an hour learning about her story. Did he also hope she would have listened to his songs on the radio by day and sneak down from her attic to attend his shows by night?
