Hopefully AoE 2 does end up making its way onto Steam. I've got quite a few fond memories of playing it back when I was younger, and being able to play it again would be awesome. Now we just need to get AoM on Steam...
Good times.
I need to ask again, is 16 the Soldier from TF2 or am I crazy?
0:49 sounds like the soldier from tf2
Damn you, sir.
AoE2 on Steam? If it comes along with SS2, I'll lay an egg.
0:49 sounds like the soldier from tf2
I think half of them sound like homer simpson
best game ever...my childhood
REALLY wish they work on making music work in the game as well.
Oh god the memories. Sometimes you don't realize the mark video game music leaves on you until you hear it again years later.
i never played too much of AoE 2, but i did spend days on Galactic Battlegrounds, which was just as good in my book looking forward to this coming to fruition, seeing as i lost my disks for both games
I'd buy AoE II again in a heartbeat on Steam, had a lot of fun with it when I was a kid
I remember playing LAN on the demo in school, fun times
What about Age of Mythology?
Good times.
21, Mark Meer? Also, I think I heard proto-Heavy and the Engineer.
This game was the bomb.
What about Age of Mythology?
i still own the disk somewhere probs one of my favorite games
What about Age of Mythology?
Yeah ive been looking for a place to buy this for the longest time.
How do i turn this on?
For me AOE2 is ultimate hall of fame. 7-8-9 years old, no net, barely knew english and got used to Scenario Editor which was my first ever modding experience and a fundation for future. I didn't knew what Abort means, let alone anything else, but had enough attention span to figure out trial and error clicking blindly, i didn't realize how passionate i was from a very early age, oh god i saved all those custom maps but until 2005 i wasn't tech savvy with windows and data backup and it was a great pc pause in GCN times, i save all my stuff since, not that i didn't care, just didn't had knowledge, but that pc has survived for long into '00 , i think i saved the whole hdd, but that pc was repaired twice or more, not sure, this hyped me to dig into it sometime. "How do you turn this on?" - I was just like dexter with his omlete du fromage, saying all day, for months. Just imagine the historical value. RIP ENSEMBLE
I really hope you can disable the population cap this time around. Nothing like turtling to win the game with your 4000 man army.
Don't forget the nice and simple editor, I had lots of fun using that.
It's also worth noting that if they are adding achievements to the game they are modifying the source code. One of the original developers stated last year that he wanted to do a comparability patch and that he'd do it for free if he could only have access to the source code: Original Link
Damn I wish someone would do this for Freelancer. Just bring the engine bang up to date, probably with new model & texture formats & size limitations, new shader support, and allow modders (ie Discovery Freelancer) etc to do the work making ships, planets & interiors.
Don't forget the nice and simple editor, I had lots of fun using that.
Ha, Whenever I think of this I can't forget that bombard tower vs monk massacre I set up, some monks were walking down in a line and the cannon balls meet them always at the same place making sceleton stacks, It was so funny with those sound voices, UHUA, YAAAU, HLLL ... PS: I didn't become gore freak or angry computer kid, rather opposite.
could you imagine if they added widescreen support
could you imagine if they added widescreen support
That's what the original developer wanted to do, see this post. The guy below, MS Ryz0n is one of the lead developers on AoE Online and AoE III Edit: I should also mention that there is a unofficial patch to add widescreen support here [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fo8Dpsc.jpg[/thumb]
I want age of mythology...
Ohhhh man, if they released this with widescreen/eyefinity support and a bunch of other stuff that made it look pretty on new computers I'd buy it in a heartbeat
Damn I just bought it a month ago
If this pops up on steam we better be having massive FP games. :v:
Aoe2 is probably one of my favorite games of all time. So glad to see this coming to steam.
This is leading me to believe halo 3 will pop up somewhere sooner or later
Upgrading a 14 year old game is a lot different from porting a game.
