uhh what does that have to do with anything?? rise of nations is hella fun i wouldnt mind seeing it on steam
The chat commands dawg [editline]28th February 2013[/editline] I believe I quoted 49
They should get age of mythology on there too.
This AoM pre-titans is pretty much the best RTS, with AoE2 a close second.
wait i just realized, this being on steam, i am almost sure there will be a sudden and huge multiplayer following [editline]28th February 2013[/editline]
This AoM pre-titans is pretty much the best RTS, with AoE2 a close second.
why pre-titans? that expansion was pretty good (dont really know if i'd call it an expansion, but atlaeteans introduced a really cool dynamic with gatherers as well as titans themselves.) [editline]28th February 2013[/editline]
Workshop support for custom maps would be nice
dude just imagine if they added modding support and mods worked via the workshop JUST IMAGINE IT BRO
I remember spamming light cavalry and cavalry archers and doing "Raiding party!" and kerb stomping everything. Also using monks to convert asian players ships because I liked their sails better and send them the resources for it in exchange.
why pre-titans? that expansion was pretty good (dont really know if i'd call it an expansion, but atlaeteans introduced a really cool dynamic with gatherers as well as titans themselves.)
The titan units completely ruined the balance of slow/turtling multiplayer games with more than 2 players (1v1). 2v2 was just about ok, but anything more and it all went to shit Wish there was an option to turn off the titans but keep the atlanteans, they were pretty cool
I would buy this again in a heartbeat.
That's what the original developer wanted to do, see this post. The guy below, MS Ryz0n is one of the lead developers on AoE Online and AoE III Edit: I should also mention that there is a unofficial patch to add widescreen support here [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fo8Dpsc.jpg[/thumb]
instead of that maybe you should try the forgotten empires unofficial expansion. It comes with new civilizations, units and widescreen with 1000 population limit.
This means voobly will slowly die

ok, i just uploaded this so i guesss this fits in here
My strategy always included checking how close my enemy was to the water. If so I built masses of cannon galleons which fuck shit up so badly it was hilarious (until monks start to go wololo). I do hope they work on the network code though, since playing with a few players through a virtual network causes out of sync issues, which surprisingly made a return in AOE Online making me closing the game never to touch it. Out of sync is a problem that occured in earlier multiplayer games, get your shit together Microsoft. A few particular aspects make aoe still stand out compared to modern rts. Like making castle walls with a ton of towers and trebuchets or the victory condition was to kill the king or pissing off your friends by silently collect all relics which win you the game after a while (and giving you fucktons of gold). There werent those fancy build orders or whatever modern rts has. You could just do whatever seemed cool and win. Please remove wolfs though, they are secretly programmed to hunt lone villagers i'm telling you.
ssshhhhh-hoh
Rogan?
This will make so much money it's not even funny Team17 could learn a bit from this
fuck YES PLEASE I still play this weekly with my friends via LAN. Original version, though. No special patches. Didn't know of any good patches.
horrible memories of getting continuously beaten by my father who liked spamming those portable cannon-ball shooters...
horrible memories of getting continuously beaten by my father who liked spamming those portable cannon-ball shooters...
Domestic owning.

Does anyone Remember AOE/AOKCasino? That map was fun as hell and great for chilling out. The scenario editor was fucking fantastic, simple enough for laymen to get into it but also advanced enough so you could get some really awesome shit happening.
The scenario editor was fucking fantastic, simple enough for laymen to get into it but also advanced enough so you could get some really awesome shit happening.
I remember spending HOURS as a kid just designing maps playing around with the triggers and units. Hell, just a few weeks backs I played around in the editor designing a little scenario.
Teutonic Knight master race!
Mongolian Horse Archers up in here.
Shit, that would be cash. Steam usually optimizes the games for the newest OS, color bug is a bitch.
Mongolian Horse Archers up in here.
Cavalry archers were so underrated but en masse they raped the shit out of almost everything.
Used to play multiplayer a lot a few years ago. We used to play 3 humans v 3 Medium/Hard Computers on a customized highland map that placed each team on their own but of land with a riving diving the map, with between 1 and 3 crossings. We would fortify the crossings, raise armies and then take out the computers. A really fun way to play a game as it was always a race against time to get to castle age in order to build watchtowers before the AI reached Castle/Imperial and launched an attack.
Everyone, check out page 3 of this Neogaf thread. "ES_MattP" aka Matt Pritchard was a Senior Developer of AoE2 but more recently has been was working for Valve/Hidden Path on CS:GO. I am almost certain this is what he is up to currently. His will to make this patch, and the fact that he's a Valve employee makes me sure as all hell he's the one putting it on Steam. I guess he really did get his source code after all
Shit, that would be cash. Steam usually optimizes the games for the newest OS, color bug is a bitch.
Killing explorer.exe before starting the game will sort that color glitch out.
This seems more like GoG's kinda thing
This seems more like GoG's kinda thing
Its better to have it on multiple distribution platforms rather than one.
Killing explorer.exe before starting the game will sort that color glitch out.
There's also programs like this that will fix the color bug if you want to avoid using batch files.
