Using UE4 instead of SFM is what I'm currently doing. [img]http://i.imgur.com/P52r7Dw.jpg[/img] In this scene there is just the baked level lighting and a point light that uses the new light channel feature, so it only affects the Engineer model. I haven't done much to make it look good yet. Converting models is pretty easy, just decompile them with Crowbar, load up the SMDs in Milkshape3D and export them as FBX. Almost nothing gets lost. For animating, I use the currently in development and still unknown tool called [url=https://www.nukeygara.com/]nukeygara[/url]. It's focusing on rigging and animating and therefore isn't as cluttered and much easier to use than fully-fledged 3D software. It's also free while it's in beta. And of course creating levels is so much easier when you can simply use models and don't have to use convex primitives.

I'm just glad to see the normal light entities in this Hammer. I don't even think Dota 2's version had them.
Speaking of, I haven't really delved into the Source 2 hammer before. The Dota 2 version had prefabs that just made all the lighting work, but I've no clue what I'm doing here. :v:

I'm having the entire toolset crash whenever I try modifying anything in a material in the material editor.. to launch it, I use a shortcut to steamtourscfg.exe with -novr as a launch parameter. should I do anything other than that?
