R.I.P Bungie and here i thought Bungie was one of the companies that had more sense, clearly i was proven wrong. Fucking Activision just go bankrupt and fuck off already we're sick of your shit.
I don't think they will, Now they have Call of Duty and Halo, either they will both fail, or they will be richer.
Well Bungie just fucked themselves.
I bet that at the end of the 10-year deal, Bungie won't be in control of the Halo franchise.
Activision does not own Bungie. They are only a publisher. They are going to be a publisher in the same way EA is being Valve's publisher.

Facepunch waves goodbye to Bungie.
Honestly you people are over reacting. This is probably going to result in Bungie developing more diverse games.
Microsoft still owns the rights to most of Halo, Bungie just confirms it pretty much.
When I first saw this I panicked because I thought some good developers might have been caught up in this little trend too. But then I saw it was just Bungie and I didn't give a shit
If activision try to bring back oni or marathon I will FUCKING murder them! You can't just bring back a series like that. Because everyone knows that when there is low dev times games are RUINED! Which is why DNF will be fucking amazing. but I would like to see a new series come out of bungie.
well ill be expecting a halo game on the ps3 now :/
Bungie...BUNGIE LOOK AT ME, DO YOU SEE THIS? DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD AGAIN?!.
10 years is only about three games if you go with a standard 3 year dev cycle (and most decent games have about a 3 year dev cycle), which Bungie seems to almost always do (assuming they don't split their developers up into multiple groups to work on different titles simultaneously).
Call of masterchief: modern halo 3
I fucking laughed
Halo on the pc?
That would be quite nice indeed.
I can imagine Bungie employee saying this after a few years under Activision Dear humanity! We regret joining Activision We regret making games for them We most certainly regret our reputation gone down the raggedy ass drain Hoo-ah! [editline]07:05PM[/editline] Though the chances of Bungie ending up crap is low
Bungie aint the brightest are they? [editline]12:14PM[/editline]
Though the chances of Bungie ending up crap is low
no, it's quite larger than you think. Activision is probrably going to have them develop genres that they don't stand a chance in.
Bungie doesn't have the rights to the Halo name anyways, Microsoft bought them out of that. Bungie is working on entirely new games for this deal, and whether this is good or bad, I'm not sure. I'm not happy about it either way. Regardless, a lot of you need to stop bandwaggoning. [editline]03:19AM[/editline]
Bungie aint the brightest are they? [editline]12:14PM[/editline] no, it's quite larger than you think. Activision is probrably going to have them develop genres that they don't stand a chance in.
Bungie started doing RTS's. A studio doesn't have to be specific to one genre, and activision isn't calling the shots, it's a publishing deal, not a management deal. While activision is in charge of the ultimate pressing of the games, they still don't call the shots. I have some modicum of faith in the Bungie team to do well with whatever they pursue. You can hate halo for being a somewhat "generic" shooter, but the biggest problem with Halo is the crowd. That was a good game, and it could be done right again I'm sure.
Honestly you people are over reacting. As seen here:
See ya later, Bungie. Was nice knowing you as a game developing studio.
Bungie split from Microsoft after Halo 3, however Microsoft has most of the rights of Halo eitherway. Bungie was looking for a new publisher for their new un-announced game that they hinted a while back, since they were independant while working on Reach. I'm not a huge Halo fan but they are a good studio with their laid-back non-formal approach, so I'd say everything is iffy- because we can't really judge them with their ties to activision since we haven't seen what kind of game it's going to be anyways. (Though Activision is obviously shaaaaddyy) Gotta love living in the local area.

Oh, Activision, nevermind.
What's next? EA buyes Valve, Activision and Microsoft? Uh-oh :S
Activision is the new EA
Activision make's different games but same style..
What's next? EA buyes Valve, Activision and Microsoft? Uh-oh :S
What the fuck are you talking about?
[IW] Call of Duty : 29th of October 2003 [IW] Call of Duty 2 : 4th of November 2005 [Treyarch] Call of Duty 3 : 10th of November 2006 [IW] Call of Duty 4 : 9th of November 2007 [Treyarch] Call of Duty 5 : 14th of November 2008 [IW] Modern Warfare 2 : 10th of November 2009 [Treyarch]Call of Duty : Black Ops : 9th of November 2010 Wait, that barely makes 2 years between every CoD. Oh, Activision, nevermind.
I said GOOD games, and I said STANDARD three year dev cycle. Of course, lots of companies have wildly different dev cycles. Like, Valve, for example. You have to wait like a century to get the next game in the series. But, damn, are they good when they come out. Bungie's still developing the games. They'll call the shots when it comes to how they develop the game. They'll do it their way, and their way is, "the game is done and shipped after a three year development process."
Uhg why?
-snip- Nevermind, looks like its just to allow activision to publish the games.
Watch Bungie's new ViDoc they have up. It may clear some things up? Or offer some kind of insight on what's going on. Especially about all of the "Halo/Bungies fucked now." View YouTUBE video http://youtube.com/watch?v=mm6yFEPY9lw
