Ah yes, a natural disaster which people had several days of warning to get out of the city they built on the coast, below sea level, and protected solely by mounds of dirt.
That's what I think he's referring too, anyways.
I wouldn't say no hand in doing it. I'm sure they used at least one bit of intelligence gathered over the past 8 years of Bush's term to help find him. It's not like they just tossed out everything they already knew about Osama when Bush left and started from scratch.
it was intel gathered from bush era that got osama as far as i can tell(among many other things of course)
Ah yes, a natural disaster which people had several days of warning to get out of the city they built on the coast, below sea level, and protected solely by mounds of dirt.
it was still a major disaster that he was blamed for(well blamed for reacting too slowly)
source http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/04/us/04bush.html He wants to stay out of the spotlight, but I think he's just upset that he didn't get Osama.
Bush never really tried to get him... We had him surrounded shortly after the war began in the mountains but the asshole wouldn't send the requested troops. 150,000 troops in Iraq after that, with 20,000 in Afghanistan. Yeah that's really trying Obama pulled troops out of Iraq and stuck more in Afghanistan to try and get him. At least Obama showed some effort
Bush accomplished his mission long ago, "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
Looking at the date, they were already planning for the Iraq invasion so obviously he wasn't the priority anymore.
it was still a major disaster that he was blamed for(well blamed for reacting too slowly)
I'd rather we blamed the people who were actually in the middle of the shitstorm for reacting slowly. It's just a matter of "oh shit! a storm in 3 days! RUN LIKE FUCK!" and then do it. You don't get to blame your dad when your life is ruined just because you didn't buckle the seatbelt when he tells you to. That kind of people need a hard slapping IMO. Poor guy, not only is he hated for his own major fuck-ups, but for everyone else. That's like Satan in religion and little siblings in family. "HE DID IT!". But, oh well. Americans gonna America i guess.
I did a couple school reports on George Bush when he was still president, and he isn't a bad guy at all, he's pretty interesting.
After you've done 8 years of possibly one of the most stressful jobs in existence I'd want to stay out of the spotlight as well.
I've heard you literally get no sleep, there's always something going on.
source http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/04/us/04bush.html He wants to stay out of the spotlight, but I think he's just upset that he didn't get Osama.
He's upset because his friend is dead. Those two were homeboys.
Oh dear if you think he put the US in Afghanistan not to get Osama.
They did it to stop the taliban from gaining power within Afghanistan on the back of the attacks.
Although I don't like how Bush performed during his presidency terms, I do hate how people say "LOLOL BUSH WAS A TERRIBLE PREZ BECUZ HE CUDENT FIND OSAMA BEN LADIN". They have no idea how difficult it is to find ONE person out of SEVEN BILLION who may be in a different country every week. I'd like them to try the most horrifyingly stressful job in the US.
Oh dear if you think he put the US in Afghanistan not to get Osama.
Yes because oil wasn't the reason. 9/11 was used as an excuse by America to invade a oil rich country, which is a shame really.
Yes because oil wasn't the reason. 9/11 was used as an excuse by America to invade a oil rich country, which is a shame really.
Oil? in Afghanistan? What the fuck are you smoking.

It would really suck to be President

[editline]4th May 2011[/editline] maybe not king of north korea
Yes because oil wasn't the reason. 9/11 was used as an excuse by America to invade a oil rich country, which is a shame really.
There is no oil in Afghanistan, you moron.
There is no oil in Afghanistan, you moron.
He's talking about Iraq, smartass. We did invade more than one country, you know...
He's talking about Iraq, smartass. We did invade more than one country, you know...
I'm aware of that. The post he was quoting referred to Afghanistan.
You guys can scream oil oil oil all you want, fact is, We have not seen a DROP of oil from either country. And that's a fact
I'm aware of that. The post he was quoting referred to Afghanistan.
But that's not the country he was talking about. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
You guys can scream oil oil oil all you want, fact is, We have not seen a DROP of oil from either country. And that's a fact
http://usgovinfo.about.com/library/weekly/aairaqioil.htm Though Afghanistan does not contribute oil. You're right about that. At least not nearly as much as its neighbors. They are more rich than their neighbors in metals and minerals, however.
Oh dear if you think he put the US in Afghanistan not to get Osama.
Oh dear if you think he put the US in Afghanistan to get Osama
You guys can scream oil oil oil all you want, fact is, We have not seen a DROP of oil from either country. And that's a fact
Their production of oil is rapidly approaching the amount Saudi Arabia puts out, though iirc their oil industry is still majority state-owned. In any case, the main reason for their economic growth is the dropping of all the sanctions they racked up under Saddam.
But that's not the country he was talking about.
Then he should've made it clearer V:smile:V I find it's not uncommon to hear people actually saying that Afghanistan was for oil.
I see where he's coming with this, I imagine being president of the US would be about the most stressfull job in the world, and now that he's out of office he doesn't want anything to do with it anymore.
