Considering a estimated 10% of frances population is muslim, of course it would be relatively low.
Every single Muslim person I know has confirmed to me they still celebrate Christmas. Christmas is about as Christian as the calendar, at this point.
Well, I think it's because most of the people in France are secularists. But another thing, and I'm pretty sure about that, it's because a lot of people are unemployed and cannot afford all the things for Christmas... :(

Christmas is the last thing on my mind. I mean, I've got presents for people and such but University work over the holidays is gonna take priority it seems. I am however looking forward to my nine day break between Jan 10th & the 19th
Lel the semester ended for me on Tuesday, I'm completely in Christmas mode
May have been that their hearts were two sizes too small.
French. Grench. Grinch. It all makes sense!
well last year was a fucking blizzardfest everywhere, great lakes froze over and everything. This is much preferable to that, imo.
Cold without snow is like nipples on a breastplate, completely useless.
Doesn't feel like Christmas over here, it's so fuckin cold.
I just finished finals and now it's only 5 days until Christmas Eve. I dont think I've even had time to get excited.
I don't look forward to Christmas because I have no one to celebrate it with :suicide:
Same here :(
Who are of laugh now, MaxOfNotFestivity?!
I don't think the Muslim population has anything to do with the low numbers. Just look at Denmark Norway and Sweden, they are predominantly atheistic and they have p. high numbers.

it doesn't even feel like December for me, just an extended October my family is rushing around me preparing food and drinks for Christmas but it doesn't feel like it
it doesn't even feel like December for me, just an extended October my family is rushing around me preparing food and drinks for Christmas but it doesn't feel like it
I bought all of the presents at the end of October and now I'm just patiently waiting for the day so I can see the whole family and have a good time. I'm no longer super hyped up about Christmas because I'm old enough to choose my own presents and since I already know what it's gonna be I typically get it way before the 25th.
i've been too preoccupied with my parents' divorce to care about christmas
Considering a estimated 10% of frances population is muslim, of course it would be relatively low.
Holy fuck, it's that bad already?
We don't look forward to Christmas because we know Santa will be on strike.
We don't look forward to Christmas because we know Santa will be on strike.
i wouldnt be surprised if that actually happened tbh
This is the most ive ever spent on Christmas this year. I bought my girlfriend some nice stuff, I bought her parents and brother gifts. I went all out for my parents. I finally have the financial freedom to spoil the people I love, and this is the last Christmas before I'm a father so I definitely am looking forward to it and I'm spoiling my family before I focus on spoiling my kid that's on the way.
Maybe most of tge French celebrate festivus.
I'm not so excited for Christmas this year since we're heading to California for my brother's stupid marching band, and since a flight to Pasadena is goddamn expensive, I may be getting mostly clothes this Christmas. The thought of this (maybe) being the first Christmas I don't wake up early in excitement makes me sad.
Dude, how spoiled are you
In france right now, and maybe its just me, but they all seem really happy
worst thing about christmas is the horribly shitty music that every radio station and store just HAS to play it's never anything original or good either, it's always the same shit
It doesn't feel like Christmas to me. Maybe it's because the magic of it all, and the days of being a whimsical little kid without shit to worry about, are long gone.
huh i guess im not the only one getting some "not-christmas" vibes this year. This will be the first Christmas i spend away from my grandparents place in kent, not really getting on with my family at the moment. My Girlfriend and her family asked me to stay with them for the holidays, so its not all terrible, it just doesnt feel like Christmas to me without doing all the traditions ive done for the past 20 years.
I'm not really excited about Christmas either. When I was a kid Christmas was awesome because you got a break from school, you got lots of presents and you got to go visit your extended family that you never get to see normally. But now, well I don't go to school, the presents don't really mean as much anymore now that I can buy my own things, and I have a car so I could go visit my extended family and hang out with them any time. Christmas just isn't really special anymore to me.
Christmas was exciting at the time I believed in santa claus. Now it's not really something to look forward to. Food is nice, but that's about all there is to christmas. I do like giving gifts to others when I have money to do so, but since I barely have any money, that doesn't happen every year.
