man i haven't had a quarter pounder in forever i can't drive yet so there's no way for me to easily get mcdonalds.
I fucking love the McDonald's breakfast options, it's about time they made them available for longer.
rip my health
man i haven't had a quarter pounder in forever i can't drive yet so there's no way for me to easily get mcdonalds.
A quarter pounder is just a hamburger with more meat.
Biscuits and Gravy all day erryday!
i mean its all just microwaved anyway....
Nope, you can even see them cooking the meat.
Breakfast and home delivery... awesome! But "rewarding frequent eaters" is a bad, silly idea. Bottom line is, folk shouldn't eat this kinda shit as a substitute for real food. It's great as an occasional treat/snack type deal, but I dont really support any plans to actually REWARD people for eating there as often as possible. Personal opinions on the taste/quality of McD food is irrelevant, I dont see how anybody could think actively encouraging people to eat junk food is good.
I agree with you completely, but a lot of places already do "Frequent customer rewards" things. For instance, every FroYo shop I've ever been to has it, as has pretty much everywhere else. It's punch cards, basically. You go a certain number of times, you get a free thing. I don't see the harm in it, if you're only going occasionally. Heck, if you're going anyway, may as well get something for free too, right?
I'd much prefer them to serve their normal selection during mornings.
That would be included with this
It's a slab of breakfast sausage on a Southern-style biscuit. It's an American thing.
There's also the McGriddle, which is that but with PANCAKES.
fuck this, cooking eggs requires an entire grill. It's hard enough peak hours with 2 grills working full throttle, if I'm stuck with only 1 grill to do all that product I'd kill myself, not to mention needing muffings constantly up (they don't get toasted the same way normal buns do, so they're annoying as fuck to cook) [editline]28th April 2013[/editline]
Quick tip, if you want fresh food (Beef atleast) ask for it without pickles, with extra cheese etc... Something different from the normal product kept in the production bin. The beef products are made fresh as (unlike chicken) they cannot be stored because the space it would take, and potential waste it could cause. *The more you know*
1) that doesnt work unless there are still mcdonalds who make product before it gets ordered, every store in australia they cook your burger to order (the meat is cooked beforehand but the burger itself is assembled after you order) I dunno if they still do the thing where they make like 10 cheeseburgers and just leave them on the heater, but I dont think that's the case any more 2) If you want fresh meat, ask for fresh meat. They have to do it if you request it and unless it's angus patties or seared/grilled chicken it's not that painful for the kitchen crew anyway.
I only go to Macca's once or twice a year, but when I do it has to be hotcakes, hashbrowns, bacon and egg McMuffin and a motherfucking coffee frappe. Screw the lunch menu.

The limit of the UK is that land is very expensive and the size of stores are limited because of that. This makes kitchens smaller meaning UHC's can hold either breakfast or chicken. Doing it the American/Australian way is equally as fresh as ours but it takes longer to prepare in comparison and also needs a UHC to store the burgers. This also means more staff are needed in comparison because food cannot be 'held' in the production bin. It works exactly like breakfast in terms of preparation, which uses more staff than our method of storing food ready for consumption immediately.
2) If you want fresh meat, ask for fresh meat. After 4pm there are often 2/3 people working in an average size store in the UK. This means two grill orders for beef products can completely knock off production because the change in product creation
Would serving breakfast all day not alleviate some of the morning rush associated with people wanting breakfast? Sonic pulled this in the last 90s, and while they no longer have the massive breakfast rush, they have a steady stream of customers throughout the day instead.
@bread dog Not really, while the meat isnt as fresh the rest of the burger is nice and a lot less soggy. We used to have it the old way and you could get some really nasty old cheeseburgers that way. In particular sauce tends to soak into the bun leading to really gross tomato/bread paste. Pretty typical marketing, make something only available for a short period (even daily) and you'll draw people in. It's better to roster lots of crew for breakfast lunch and dinner and have huge rushes than to have more people rostered on average and make sales more evenly throughout the day.

The quality of the beef is much more important than the quality of the buns because of the risk of bacteria getting at the beef if left in the UHC unlike a wrapped product ready for sale.
UHCs are gonna keep meat a lot hotter than a wrapped up burger on a heated tray. The meat is still sitting in a heated area for a few minutes either way just as vulnerable to bacteria, its just with the made to order method the rest of the burger is fresh and the cheese isnt completely molten and the lettuce is still crisp imo its just better.

And what is your wage per hour there? I have a feeling the different styles of food production have something to do with this and the amount of staffing
I do overnights so it's either me alone up to 3 people on busy nights. I've worked evening and morning shifts in the past and around 5 people in kitchen. I havent worked a dinner shift (but I have worked several insane breakfast shifts) but apparently we get up to 10 people in kitchen at a time. I get 19.50 an hour, but I'm over 21, most people I talk to are around 15 an hour. Admittedly on overnight we dont keep up to standards as well as we're meant to, but this is because we're understaffed, food is usually not very fresh, managers are also reluctant to waste meat and often I don't have the time available to me to keep fresh product up. If it gets too quiet we often stop precooking altogether and cook everything as it's ordered, the wait times become ridiculous sometimes though (up to 6 or 7 minutes if they order some of the slower stuff to cook)
Don't try it. The food will make you feel like shit afterwards, or if your lucky, give you diarrhea of the mouth because they dunk their food in so much salt you wouldn't believe it. Even their salads have a high salt count.
i love these kind of posts because it gives me a whole new look on human anatomy, i never knew stomachs could actually be made out of paper
There's also the McGriddle, which is that but with PANCAKES.
This is practically the only reason to go to Mc Donalds. These things are so fucking good.
i mean its all just microwaved anyway....
[citation needed]
Neat, I know some fast-food places (Jack in the Box, for one) already do this. McDonald's breakfast (at least them sandwiches) are nice. [editline]27th April 2013[/editline] Also I have eaten a McGangBang more times than I care to admit, so maybe I'll be able to get a Mc1035 someday.
i love these kind of posts because it gives me a whole new look on human anatomy, i never knew stomachs could actually be made out of paper
But it's true! I've eaten burgers from lots of other places, be it a national chain or a local restaurant, and they all taste better than McDonald's. Well...maybe Sonic is an exception. Something doesn't taste quite right about their burgers.

You guys seem to have a general dislike for McDonalds regular burgers. I don't get it. I've always loved McDonalds. McChicken is delicious. Maybe it's because over here we have a tendency to treat our fast food restaurants like actual restaurants.
well your avatar leads me to believe you already have impaired taste sooooooo however, you haven't tasted every single mcdonalds, and calling it salty as shit is dumb
My tastebuds work quite fine, thank you. But they don't right now. I'm sick.
mcgriddles 24/7 are going to be the death of me
