I think a two-state solution would be ideal. With that being said, I think that there can only be a two-state solution if Hamas recognizes Israel's right to exist and ceases violence against Israel.
Most Israelis hold the same view: http://www.gallup.com/poll/161456/israelis-palestinians-pro-peace-process-not-hopeful.aspx
Hamas doesn't recognize Israel's right to exist as an explicitly Jewish state.
In pre-1948 Palestine, Jews, Muslims, and Christians lived in peace.
This whole fiasco is sickening. A Republican hack, Ron Dermer, who is the Israeli Ambassador to the US, organized this in secret with the Republican House Speaker John Boehner to accomplish seemingly two things:
1) Blow up the Iran negotiations
2) Humiliate the President
To be clear they meaning the fucking Israeli Ambassador to the US and John Boner never informed the White House, or the State Department about this until it became public knowledge. That's a pretty big fucking deal to organize a clandestine speech between the House Leader and a foreign leader to undermine US foreign policy to score political points.
The Democrats need to either publicly boycott this, or walkout - this sort of thing is disturbing and shouldn't be tolerated. And Ron Dermer should be labeled persona non grata.
Isn't this technically treason?
Isn't this technically treason?
Technically no, it certainly feels treacherous but they haven't "levie(d) war against them or adhere(d) to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere".
It's just another shameful bit of hackery in an increasingly toxic political climate.
My point still stands. Anyone who criticizes Israel's policies, in your small mind, is "Anti-Israel." And we criticize Israel because Israel is a terrorist, apartheid state on whom the irony of the Nazi genocide is entirely lost.
Your dismissal is invalid.
Your move.
Your point does not stand. If Israel was ethnically cleansing the Palestine region, all those Palestinians would have been dead decades ago. Israel has the most technologically advanced military in the hemisphere, against a bunch of people with AKs and rockets. They could wipe out the West Bank in a couple weeks if they wanted to, but they don't. They treat the wounded in their medical centers. They send out warnings before they bomb an area in retaliation for the Palestinian government launching rockets at civilian population centers.

"warnings"
Yeah like those are SO helpful at preventing casualties

Johnson put it pretty aptly when he said its borderline treason.

its amazing how some people think the only way to conduct ethnic cleansing is by going medieval at it. :v:
its no longer acceptable to do that in our current age, but if you use enough misdirection/subtlety/outright lies you can get away with it(or if you're an african, since no one gives a shit about africa).
