Young guy drivers crash more then young girl drivers. Older guy drivers crash less than older women drivers. Hence why younger guys pay more, older guys pay less than their relative female. It's not sexist at all.
Yeah...must be tough having to pay lower insurance premiums and living longer.
I don't wanna live longer :colbert:
its about time. for the first year of insurance for my vauxhall corsa cost me £1500 and that was only third party fire and theft, i changed my gender to female and it went down to £900 if anything female drivers can be as worse as men. Its disgraceful.
You're on to something here. Most men crash because we were pushing things too far, I'd say half of crashes involving men were probably preceeded with the words "Watch this!". Well not so much but we take more risks and as a result, have more crashes. It's our own fault. I'm part of the statistics, I put my first car in a ditch after taking a corner too fast. I never actually told the insurance, just took out a small loan and bought a new car, sold my old car as spares for £600. Sorted, everyone's a winner. But my point is that most crashes involving women are from stupid judgements and hesitation. Such as not seeing a car coming round a bend, or panicking when a car pulls out, slamming on the brakes at an amber light when they should have gone through due to the van following closely behind... Things like that, they crash due to their lack of concentration and confidence on the road, this, I think is more dangerous than men. Unfortunatley insurance is based completley on statistics. If you are male you are statistically more likely to be in a crash, fact. If you are a younger, you are more likely to be involved in an accident, fact. If you live on a certain street you are more likely to have your car stolen, fact. All these facts are taken into consideration and increase the cost of premiums, there's nothing you can do about it.
Women pay less for automobile insurance over there? Isn't it the other way around in the US?
