Well, the Republicans in the House have currently passed at least 31 Democrat authored bills, but it's too bad that those same bills are sitting in the senate as Harry Reid denies them access to an actual vote. Along with those 31 Democrat authored bills are 164 Republican sponsored bills waiting for the senate as well. (http://thehill.com/homenews/house/20...pass-our-bills)
the article itself says that the bills are uncontroversial, so it's no wonder why they were passed in a bipartisan manner.
the article doesn't exactly do much in way of explaining what it means when it talks about bills waiting in the senate, either; the only people making accusations of deliberate stalling are politicians.
"Mr. Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, on Thursday dismissed all proposed Republican amendments to the unemployment extension, even those drafted by Republicans who had handed Democrats a victory on Tuesday by voting to take up the bill.
'We get nowhere with dueling amendments,' Mr. Reid declared.
A Republican effort to try to reopen the amendment process failed on a party-line vote, 42 to 54, setting up a showdown next week that is likely to end in the bill’s demise, Democrats conceded." (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/10/us...ml?ref=us&_r=1)
There's just a single example of the democrats love of compromise and discussion in the senate.
okay, you got me there; i was too quick to jump the gun and imply that the republican party carried all of the blame.
but it's still a little unnerving when so many politicians and political candidates are outright loud and proud about how uncompromising they're going to be. case in point, with the links below:
Really? I always thought their campaign platform was to shrink government and cut taxes. Show me a democratic bill that includes either of these that the tea partiers wouldn't even negotiate on.
small-government is their ideology, no-compromise is their mode of operation.
Looks like someone just boosted the contrast/levels. Of course you're going to see more wrinkles when you do that
not really, here's the left side adjusted to match the levels of the right more and he still looks young

There's a difference between what actually happens and what the main stream media covers.
da LIEberal media is trying to tell us that not every bad thing that has happened in the history of America is the fault of democrats and liberals.
I miss the sgman that didn't perpetuate dumb conspiracy theories.

Please, put more words in my mouth. Fox doesn't talk about this any more than MSNBC from what I can tell. Day to day senate proceedings are boring to the average person. So they don't cover them. Notice how I quoted the NYT as my source, not exactly a known conservative media outlet.
One hundred and sixty four bills practically IS nothing. This congress has accomplished less than any other congressional term since the 1940's.
The fact that passing lots of bills counts as "accomplishing" something seem ridiculous to me.

But he didn't fix everything that evil left winger Bush broke.
Man, Obama is starting to look like awful.
I mean in appearance, stress must be getting to him.
If I had to deal with the fucking children know as GOP, I'd be pretty stressed too
I don't judge congress on how many bills they pass, but on how much they hurt or help the country. From what I can tell the biggest critique of the house republicans is that they haven't done anything while I would point to a large number of things done by Obama that have in fact been negative on the whole. One being his childish desire to ignore problems until he's forced to face them, including, but not limited to: ISIS, the border issues, etc. It's been shown that he knew about these as up and coming issues before the media made a big deal about them, yet he did nothing.
Yeah but unless you can prove your view point as to what's "best" for the country is objective and grounded in hard fact, why should we take what you say as the best option over what someone else says?
Unless you're trying to argue that the right is just categorically correct in all cases, then i'm curious to hear how you come to that conclusion
i feel your whole stance is based on you being factually correct without any chance of being wrong about things. I know you feel that every liberal acts this way and can't exist outside that view point but I don't think that's really a good excuse for your behaviour
Being opposition is the easiest job in politics, just bitch and moan about everything the guy in power does and very rarely add anything to the political process. A lot of extreme party's only can function in opposition simply because they have no concrete policy's of their own, and the ones that they have are simply daft or won't work.
Obama, just make a rap song where you shit all over Republicans. It'll be good for you to get some frustration out and show your mad lyrical skills and it'll be entertaining for the rest of us, everybody wins. We'll even give you tips on finding a producer, just do it.
