Why are they all wearing two sets of headphones at once?
I think the one on their ears are for noise cancellation and the one around their necks are for microphones and/or sponsors
Feels like an excuse since only 0.1% (likely less) will be actually good enough to potentially become a professional, competitive Esports player. Might be biased tho, as I've come across several people who've jumped university/college implying that they are gonna focus on their "gaming career" whilst having an uncharismatic personality, lacking game knowledge, while also being generally bad/average at games. Only to see their parents supporting them as they pretty much do nothing. I enjoy watching esports and certain youtubers myself, but throwing away your education/job whatever for it is just plain stupid. Adding onto the fact that most of the people who have gotten somewhere didn't just drop their life until they could actually support themselves on what they were doing.
the idea is that traditional sports are only worth money/clubs because people pay to see them we're already seeing gambling and match fixing scandals worth big money in e-sports this article is about a school trying to stay ahead of the curve, and cash in on e-sports becoming popular, which in turn makes it profitable, makes local teams form, etc
Sweden just seems so far ahead compared to other countries.
i'm not too sure if this puts them ahead of other countries. indeed, i doubt they are.
still not as cool as chess club, were the coolest
How about they make proper programming classes, electrical engineering workshops, 3D modelling and digital art classes, digital music classes? They say they want to adapt to the times they live in, I wonder why it nececarily means esports.
Every mainstream high school has offered programmes like that for 15+ years here, I studied electronical engineering, programming (C++), and network engineering during high school, as did an older friend of mine during the late 90's Also, exactly why do they not "deserve" the money?
I never got why professional video game players have like, racing chairs and shit. With the rib protectors? What kind of next-level, high intensity shit do you have to be pulling in doter two for those to be necessary? [editline]29th January 2015[/editline] they have two headsets on what a fuck

[editline]29th January 2015[/editline] they have two headsets on what a fuck
The 2 headphones thing was actually explained and kinda made sense. I can't remember exactly what was going on, but it had to do with: A) Sponsors, logos, all the jazz, usually worn around the neck as part of the uniform. B) They have a wire going in for just in-game audio (Set they wear on their head), and it's also soundproof. C) The set they have on is to block out the commentator/loudspeaker/caster etc. They generally use the second set around their neck for the microphone, and listen through the set on their head to avoid any bleeding between the commentator, noise and all that jazz I suppose.
This is almost exactly what you're talking about except the main guy also plays games: [editline]28th January 2015[/editline] And somehow there's 3 seasons of this (at 6 episodes at like 10-15 minutes each)
The 2nd and 3rd seasons had much longer episodes.
Surely they could just use clip-on mics instead of headsets?
For personal home use it's usually a better deal to do that, but for these people I assume that companies basically hand them headsets.
So now you can get CS:GO cheaper with a valid school license?
Sweden is so cool
