QUICK get him the pills
I want it.
fuck yeah.
Send me few bottles of these pills now.
And ten batches to CWC.
Cures for things like ptsd are around the corner, hooray
And in addition to the article: I think it's not a thing of "just give it to autistic people and they are cured"
Chemical and pharmacist reasons aside, suddenly being "cured" of autism seems like psychologic hell to me. YOu grew up like this. Now you get the stuff and BAM suddenly there are millions of feelings/thoughts/ actions you never even were able to HAVE before.
Frightening.
Pretty sure that isn't how autism works; it's more like they can't express it properly/the emotions are misdirected.

So?
Being able to "express correctly" is a new way to interact with the world.
And the reactions are completely new to you.
Could be useful considering I have aspergers

Welp, I guess Chris has his cure now.
I wonder if he'll try to have it prescribed once he hears of this (if he hears of it)
It'd be fun to see what happens if he takes it. Maybe he'd wisen up some and stop being such a wonderful lolcow.
Oh what a loss that would be.
Now we can have autism parties that all end everyone sitting in a corner not talking to anyone and wishing they could go home.
It might also lead to recreational autism, where people who want to take a break from having messy emotions about other people decide to unplug and enter a state where human relationships are no more important than inanimate objects.
Okay, now I'm just offended.
But then again, this entire thread seems to offend me.

I used to be like this when I was very little.

I bet Minecraft doesn't offend you.

I am astounded at the sheer originality of your post.
I was diagnosed with NVLD, which is clinically very close to aspergers; and I suppose aspergers is somewhat close to autism, considering it bears similarities to it.
I would take this "cure pill" the first chance I get to see what happens. Very interesting development, though did it say it was going to be available by 2020? So far away :saddowns:

Oh damn so much for wanting to play Minecraft. :saddowns:
I guess it's the same for every drug. If you're doing a drug 'for fun' but you do it too often, you won't be able to have fun without it.
I disagree with this, I personally smoke a lot of weed, but even still, when I'm sober, I'm still having fun, sometimes more, it's just a matter of the person really.
I have aspergers (autism), and I go by what most people with it say: I would not take a magical pill or injection to make it go away. Same goes for this one.
it's good that it's a cure but if someone needs to take it to do work then they will never accomplish anything without it and become dependent on it to do stuff

I say screw the pointless therapy talk, bring on the pills.
Ooooh, hopefully ill get to make some of this soon :D
This only further confuses me how autism or autism pills work.
snip where is my automerge

Why?

Disagreeing with leach139. I must experience life without ze aspergers. Many a painful day it has been in my life.
Actually, fuck that, they have their facts wrong.
"It might also lead to recreational autism, where people who want to take a break from having messy emotions about other people decide to unplug and enter a state where human relationships are no more important than inanimate objects."
I don't recall deciding that human relationships are worthless. This sentence alone gives me the feeling they're just wanting to get rid of a group (prejudice). Giving me the image of bullying, right here.
I have loved everything science has done so far, but if they feel like being dicks about it and making jokes like that, I'll give them the middle finger
question, would it work for some one who has aspergers? as that's apparently part of the autism scale
