If I were religious I'd be ashamed, whether or not the person that heckled Obama existed.
See, I'm a staunch Atheist, but even I believe that, so long as they do not attempt to impose their beliefs on others, everyone has a right to believe as they wish. And, barring some extreme examples, there is really nothing to be ashamed of for holding these beliefs.
That's not really the point. Some people believe he did, but he has never been investigated or indited by any organizations with international authority. Those people are no more right than the ones who believe Obama is the Antichrist and heckled him during his speech.
Rumsfeld was heckled over something he allegedly did. Innocent until proven guilty.
Obama was heckled over something he allegedly was. Some people genuinely believe Obama is the Antichrist, as nuts and downright moronic as that may sound to most people.
you're wrong just for comparing a war criminal to a fictional entity that has no proof of existence.
where as war criminals are people that actually exist

I wasn't trying to compare war criminals to anything. In fact, I wasn't even comparing the recievers of the heckling. I was comparing the similar looniness both hecklers possessed. I was simply pointing out that, before Facepunch Atheists/far-left liberals broke out their "lol all conservatives and religious people are :downs: " rhetoric, a far-left moron was responsible for a similar incident yesterday. I only made that post because, apparently, it's acceptable to heckle other politicians, but God forbid you call anyone an Antichrist, because that doesn't exist lol!
Don't drag that "lol no proof of existence all religious people are :downs:" bullshit into this thead. We are not debating whether or not the Antichrist exists, because that is totally irrevelent to the subject matter. What matters is that people believe an Antichrist exists, and worse, some believe Obama is the antichrist.
Speak for yourself.
I would, but I can't. As it wouldn't be possible.
Good for you.
What's that supposed to mean to me?
it means that there are a lot more dumb people than just him
Hahaha
"JESUS CHRIST IS GOD!!!"
"I agree."

The point is the heckling is a hell of a lot more justifiable when someones very likely a political criminal.

Once again, verbally assaulting a powerful world figure is okay so long as YOU agree with it? There are a hell of a lot of people who believe that Obama is a criminal for passing his healthcare law. Are you saying those people can heckle Obama?
Once again, verbally assaulting a powerful world figure is okay so long as YOU agree with it?
i don't understand why you want people to pretend as if they have zero political opinions of their own.
of course that is okay in the same way that we think republicans being booted out of office is okay and evangelical christians being limited from pushing their religion upon others is okay.

This is a civilised country. We don't go around screaming our political opinions at presidents and world leaders.
I never said having or expressing political opinions is not okay. What isn't okay is disrupting a speech being given by a world leader because you disagree with them. There are more than enough forums to express your political opinions. A public outburst is not one of them.
If you were walking down the street one day and bumped into Rick Perry, would you scream as loud as you can for him to take his evangical bullshit and shove it up his ass, while in the view of live news cameras and the press?
What isn't okay is disrupting a speech being given by a world leader because you disagree with them.
donald rumsfeld isn't a world leader. people can scream whatever they want.
even the heckler who screamed antichrist can scream whatever he wants. he's still pretty stupid though.

except passing a law isn't illegal?

yeah probably just for laughs

so if I genuinely believed Obama was secretly a unicorn, I would be no more right heckling him than someone who may have sanctioned torture?
by the way every single thread that even remotely involves the left/religion you come in and post something like "GRR LIBERALS GRRRR ATHEISTS" and it's really annoying so pls stop it.

It isn't who supports what, it's what the evidence supports. Are there laws that the healthcare mandate broke?
Are there laws that Rumsfield did break? Most likely
There's a difference in the two and I'm confused as to why you think calling a kettle with a tea towel over it black, when it's really actually black.

Rumsfeld is a author and retired politician, he was only a SoD. Not exactly a world leader.

I wasn't going "GRR LIBERALS GRR ATHISTES." I was pointing out that the stupidity exists on both sides after the first fifteen or so posts in this thread read "GRR CONSERVATIVES GRR RELIGIOUS PEOPLE"
And yes, you'd be no more right heckling him. Once again, there are forums to voice your opinions. Screaming and yelling at people does nothing. What if Congress worked like that?
I was pointing out that the stupidity exists on both sides
thank you duly noted but i'm not going to suspend what i believe is right or wrong just to appease your notion that everyone is stupid.
questioning whether someone is a war criminal if they were involved in something fshy, good idea.
questioning whether someone is the anti-christ, bad idea

Once again, this isn't about whether or not there is evidence to support claims. It's about people who genuinely believe somethign who decide to go out and scream at politicians and world leaders while they're trying to give speeches.

except every time someone posts something about a conservative/religious person doing something dumb you always go "ATHEISTS/LIBERALS CAN BE DUMB TOO" when first of all no one's denying that, and second of all the political right in this country is just plain stupid when you look at what their party platform supports.
and no, i would be less in the right because i would be a fucking wing-nut for believing he was a mystical being, which is highly unlikely to exist, than a war criminal, which do in fact exist.

Yes, because saying people shouldn't interrupt world leaders' speeches by screaming at them == suspending their beliefs of right or worng.

no you're trying to make some comment that people have a double standard without noting that the two are not the same.
screaming at obama for being the antichrist is not like protesting an alleged war criminal.

I've posted in three threads in the past three weeks that have been about religion. One of those was a debate thread. I don't understand why you're insisting that I sit here waiting to jump into every religious thread on Facepunch with biased views (which is totally unheard of on Facepunch).

The guy on the news clip wasn't protesting. He was screaming at Rumsfeld while he was trying to give a speech.

I was stating what had already happened.
If the Antichrist wanted to infiltrate the US government do you really think he would have ran for president as a black man

It's in the Talmud.

I think we're too used to Bush doing exactly that.
