Want to play games online on the next gen consoles for free? Choose PS4
While Sony has confirmed PS Plus subscriptions are required for online multiplayer, that does not apply where free-to-play games are concerned. In other words, PS Plus isn’t the gatekeeper when it comes to every online experienece.
Games in example:
DC universe and planetside 2 can be played online, for free with no ps+
Or Wii U or PC
Wasn't this confirmed about a week ago?
Very misleading title and confirmed ages ago
I think that the government has a top secret program to use the kinect to monitor us to search for terrorists and microsoft, the holy knight of liberty, is saving america by making it so nobody will buy them

PC being a next gen console?
PC being a next gen console?
pc is almost always a generation ahead of consoles
He said next gen.
You're not funny. Wii u actually is pretty decent.

A lot of PC gamers are graphics whores so don't expect much out of facepunch with this statement.
Still has to pay for general multi-player on PS4 though

The hardware differences between consoles and computers are dwindling with each generation.

My beef is more with Nintendo's line-up of games.
Either just shit or shitty rehashes.

Better hardware isn't just for graphics, you couldn't have GTA IV's Liberty City on the PS1 :eng101:
pc is almost always a generation ahead of consoles
Playstation is on their fourth version
Never been a PC 2
do the math

Hardly, rather the console's make a lackluster attempt to catch up with the PCs, not quite getting there, and gradually PCs continue getting more powerful, making a console that is nearly as good as a PC become something that is far worse than a PC.

The whole anti 'graphics whore' thing tends to be a stupid argument of not needing good graphics for a good game. You know what makes a better game? That good game, with better graphics.
Likewise there are plenty of shit games without good graphics.
Windows 8 must be 4 generations ahead of PS4
He said next gen.
read as "i do not understand the wii u's architecture"

I don't see how saying that you don't need good graphics for a good game is a stupid argument. It is a totally valid point.

Look at the conkers bad fur day remake on the xbox 360. The N64 version was superior.
You do need good graphics for a game to be good. That doesn't mean you need the latest in high-definition textures, DX11, SSAO, and all the latest software for it to look good.
Halo 1 looks good. Half Life 2 looks good. Hell, even Deus Ex 1 looks alrite. there's a difference between good graphics and graphics that don't look like complete ass.

Provided things are stylised and graphics aren't the only crutch for atmosphere you're totally right.
Deus Ex 1 had a great soundtrack.
Or Wii U or PC
or if you like anal sex without lube or a condom, XBox One
I thought this meant that Sony decided to drop the subscription fee from the title.
Oh well, a man can dream.

That's the thing many people, and even developers, fail to understand, today.
There's a massive difference between beautiful graphics, and, um... bloated graphics?
Like, if you ask me, Crysis 2 is visually boring as a sin, while it was meant to be the bleeding edge graphics game. Crysis 1 was better in that regard, I think, but still not a spectacle.
Then look at Bastion. Even tho it's simple as hell sprite graphics, it's unique, it's refreshing, memorable. It has a sort of soul in it.
It should be more of about "Our artists are fucking amazing" and not "we have moar polygonz".
That's why I think WiiU has principally little disadvantage in relation to PS4 and XBone, as long as somebody good gets to develop the games.
The WiiU looks much better than the Wii did to me.
Honestly though, getting a 3DS has killed any chance of me getting the WiiU. It seems to have better titles with, not as good but still good, hardware. Smash Bros. coming out for 3DS as well just gave me confirmation.
Or Wii U or PC
Wii U isn't a next-gen console
Wii U isn't a next-gen console
It's what the Wii should've been.
To be fair the Wii was a generation behind too, almost every game looked like it belonged on the PS2
read as "i do not understand the wii u's architecture"
You're kidding yourself if you really think the wii-u is "next gen", or at least, if you think it deserves that title. It's a lazily made attempt by Nintendo to be the "first next gen console" and it will hopefully fail so that they will either try harder next time or give up altogether and stop making consoles that detract from the main 2 consoles.
I think everyone is forgetting that the Wii sold better then both the 360 and the ps3.
Nintendo isn't really hurting from lack of money and the 3DS is doing fine.
They have had a slow start right now, but it will pick up.

Let's be honest here.
It was mostly purchased by people who only used it for a few months, and the put it in the closet because the novelty of the controller had worn off.
I'm starting to think more and more that the Wii U is the only next-gen console I'm going to end up owning.
