For some people, but medication alone is not enough to truly help you with depression.
Does weed help with depression?
It both depends on the strain and the person. Though there are confirmed reports that it does help in many instances.
The point is you can still buy it online and have it shipped to you like the amazon.ca of weed if you have a doctors note, it allows for stricter control and keeps people without medical needs from getting it since all the transactions are recorded.
Also, that other statement is just dumb. Your doctor will know what medication you need the most for any particular illness, but if you just want to use him as an excuse to buy weed there are sites you can visit to pay doctors over skype to fax/mail/email you a prescription.
I've had a licenced family doctor at the Lisgar Medical clinic in Mississauga Ontario tell me flat out that smoking pot would most likely kill me in a fatal heart attack within the first 10 minutes of being used. This same lady wouldn't tell me the stomach condition I have and tried to convince me I need to be on medication for the rest of my life, but also that this condition was my own fault for ever smoking pot.
I went to a clinic in Toronto yesterday to have the doctor tell me "that if the meds are working whats the point of going to specialist to get it figured out?"
Its also worth noting that Marijuana is the only thing that has properly helped my nausea, and that its used medically as a treatment for gastrointestinal disorders. I can't even be considered for a green card most places because I'm under 21. Our system is fucked, I believed in it for a long time but at this point I've witnessed firsthand how much the system doesn't care if you're sick.

You fucking serious? I live in Churchill meadows, not ten minutes away. That doctor should lose her license.

I've been thinking that for months, also she didn't tell me I had an iron deficiency for over a year and I had to hear it from a hospital. I have no idea why she has a medical license or how she could still be legally practicing, she prescribed me the complete wrong medication for a very clear and easy to diagnose skin condition (tinea versicolor, which is incurable) and told me it would go away permanently if I bought an expensive lotion that turned out to also be completely unrelated to the skin condition. After going to a walk in clinic the doctor immediately diagnosed it in less than 30 seconds, and doctor at Lisgar medical made me take off my shirt so she could take pictures which was more uncomfortable than I could describe.
Over the last year I've 100% lost faith in the Canadian healthcare system as I'm barely a step closer to being cured of whatever the hell I have, I'm not even capable of holding down a manual labour job at this point because I get incredibly sick when I push myself at all, even when on medication and the entire situation is very distressing and depressing as I'm starting to feel like I'm never going to get better.
Same legal loopy shithole that the US has to deal with, I can garentee if the next president is red, they'll crack down hard on all the states that legalized the stuff here
i doubt it tbh, it fundamentally runs contrary to republican ideals to impose federal restrictions on things that states have legislated on
especially given how much support there is for medical (and recreational) marijuana use in the us
i think they'll fight it if someone tries to legalize it federally but the go to phrase for a conservative in the us is "hey if the local communities want it let em"

Look up a family practitioner called Sally Basta, and see if she'll take any new patients. She's the best doctor I ever had.
I swear to god, if that clown is elected back in, I'm emigrating.

How are you not dead yet? Nobody can drive here.

You're Mississaugan, too? What the fuck. And hey, people around here drive just fine. I've no idea what you're talking about. I'm a pretty new driver, and it's only rarely I've felt in any danger from other drivers on the road.

Yeah, come over to Vancouver, I will show you bad drivers in spades.

That's weird, the first week I moved here all I've been seeing is car accidents happen right in front of me.
A lot of the time people don't even signal, a lot people just change lanes and swerve back and fourth between them and cut everyone off. This one lady was going 70k in a 50k and slammed on the breaks 30 feet from a red light.
I see that shit so much here literally every time I go out, maybe I live in a different part of the city?

Well I've almost been run down on my old bike around Meadowvale like six times, people never use signals.

I'm assuming she's in that area? I just lost the place where I was living so I'm living with my mom in Scarborough for now

Hey, guess what.
I contacted the closest "pot doc" (i.e. the one doctor within 40 miles that would sign off on Health Canada's MMJ forms, and to go further would require me to spend the entire day traveling from to Vancouver Island to Vancouver and back just for a doctor's appointment), and the receptionist asked if I already had a fully filled-out MMAR form signed by a psychologist. When I said no, he told me the polite equivalent of GTFO and wouldn't even hint to me who I could contact that'd be willing to sign forms for anyone at all.
And this is a doc who offers/offered consultations over Skype.
THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN BY DESIGN. Health Canada offers no protection from liability for doctors who agree to sign MMJ forms for people, leading to a massive disincentive for doctors to touch it. Less than 5% of doctors in Canada would sign the old MMAR form.
Also, it's practically impossible to actually get a commercial production license for the weed-by-mail program Health Canada instituted after stripping away patients' right to grow their own and then threatening them with being reported to the RCMP. I have no incentive to apply for the new MMPR program because it's clear that all I'm doing is announcing to the federal government that I use an illegal drug on what can presumed to be a chronic basis. That's the last thing I need on top of the actual problems I'm medicating for.
Health Canada is not interested in helping patients unless it's with pills. Harper has his hand up their ass and is directing their policy for political gain.

Perhaps. I live near the Erin Mills Town Centre.

Yeah, she's around here.
Not within easy walking distance, but around. http://www.ontariodoctordirectory.ca/map/Mississauga/Doctor-Sally-Basta-32614.html
