I do not know how you still don't understand.
okay
explain to me why he is a douchebag, other than he just said "show me your boobs" when he was in a mental state where he probably won't even remember the situation
You're comparing your little boo boo to this guy who had both of his legs blown off. And yet you call him a douche when he says something while he is in unbelievable amounts of pain, doped up on morphine ontop of the chemicals in his body that are being released to cope with the pain.
Shut up already.
No I'm not. I literally said the total opposite of what you are saying. I take it english isn't your first language since you seem to not understand anything I'm saying.
Let's put it this way: her response was wrong if it happened as you describe. Still, it's hardly something that is going to scar you for life. It would be like me claiming to know what it means to really be in pain by talking about how I broke my arm as a kid. It isn't a unique experience, and doesn't make me an expert on pain.
I think falling on a metal pole and getting laughed at from the person you went to for help can be pretty scarring for life. We can't judge that.
He never claimed he knew what it's like "to really be in pain ", people were saying that he probably didn't know pain at all and that was his story about a painful experience. end
He never said so. He never even made a connection between his pain and the soldiers pain. People were concluding he never felt true pain and he told a story of his life and suddenly people jumped to the conclusion that tonyp wanted to say that his pain was comparable(which he never did) so they can give him more shit.
True, but he took 0fucksgiven's post as a chance to fish for sympathy, or it at least came across that way
The guys jumping TonyP because of somewhat insensible statement are actually worse than his statement.
All I'm reading is "heh, look at that tonyp, making such a wrong statement, now it's MY time to SHOW HIM WHAT AN INCONSIDERATE ASSHOLE HE IS! HA! HEH! I AM SUCH A GOOD PERSON!!!!"
Tony P isn't being lambasted in this ( soon to be locked ) thread because people want to prove that they're morally superior.
They're doing it because it's funny, Tony P's first couple of posts especially ( albeit probably unintentional)

Well this is the only person who understands what I'm saying.
this thread went from "lol this guy lost his legs but still made a joke" to "i'm tonyp and my life is harder than a soldiers"
he never said so but it sure is conveniect to think he did so you have someone to fling shit at, isn't it?

Yeah, people seem to making a connection to me saying I had a painful experience and the experience of this soldier, when there is no such connection.
Stop. Nobody cares about your pain. Get back on topic.
Yeah, people seem to making a connection to me saying I had a painful experience and the experience of this soldier, when there is no such connection.
Alright.
So how is the soldier a douchebag for saying what he did?
So you have no intelligent argument so you reply with a childish attempt at an insult?
Keep digging yourself a hole kid.
We're trying to get you to understand that why he would say what he said to the woman. Because of how fucked up mentally he was at the moment.
I'm not insulting you, I was being sincere when I assumed english wasn't your first language, since you weren't understanding a simple analogy.
You know it's possible for more than one discussion to take place per thread right?

Ok but that makes them assholes.
I don't agree with his initial statement about the soldier but people sorta built a nice little bandwagon trap.
It went:
TP : "the soldier was mysogynistic" (redactional note: he wasn't)
FP: "dude no he was in great pain, you probably never experienced huge pain in your life shut up"
TP : "i was hurt when I fell as a kid, I passed out because of the pain"
FP: "OH SO YOU WANNA COMPARE FALLING AS A KID TO LOSING YOUR LEGS"
TP : "no it was an example of experiencing pain"
FP: "SEE YOU ARE COMPARING YOUR KID PAIN TO LOSING LIMBS WOW YOU ARE SUCH AN ASSHOLE"
Stop. Nobody cares about your pain. Get back on topic.
Nobody cares about my pain, they care that they wrongly believe I'm trying to say that because I got injured and went unconscious as a kid that I know what it's like to lose my legs. But I'm not, they're just misunderstanding and making connections just because it happens to be in this thread about Mr Soldiers legs.
Yeah, people seem to making a connection to me saying I had a painful experience and the experience of this soldier, when there is no such connection.
Somebody defended the soldier by saying you probably hadn't experienced much. Especially pain on the level of losing limbs. You replied with a list of childhood bumps and bruises as if it makes you an authority on the pain this guy was in. The connection is pretty obvious. Otherwise you just took a remark personally and defended yourself rather than your statement, which missed the point on a different level.

I think nothing more needs to be said, you perfectly explained it in a way I wasn't able to.
Lets go back to talking about boobies.
I'm not insulting you, I was being sincere when I assumed english wasn't your first language, since you weren't understanding a simple analogy.
The problem with talking on a forum is that you totally lose the ability to set the tone of your words. Saying "I take it english isn't your first language since you seem to not understand anything I'm saying" comes across as insulting and pretentious, even if you meant it as sympathy.

That's an assumption.
I wonder what this experience will be like for him when he remembers it.
Like will it be traumatizing to him or will he feel better and laugh because of what he said to her? :v:
Most derailed & fastest derailed thread of 2013 imo.
If the guy was injected with morphine I don't think you can blame him for shit.
That's an assumption.
A pretty fair one.

As I said, I completely ignored his point about the soldier, I only responded to his accusation that I've never had a painful experience. It's not trolling, it's just bad discussion on my part.
And personally I think falling spine first on an iron pole and going unconscious while the person you asked help from laughs at you lying face first in the dirt is more than a bump and bruise. I still have some pain in my spin when I bend certain ways today actually.
I wonder what this experience will be like for him when he remembers it.

Honestly, I doubt he'll remember it that well given all the trauma and morphine.
Tony, take the hint and fuck off.
You've derailed an entire thread as an excuse to interject your little experiences that doesn't contribute anything while also passive aggressively treating everyone like English isn't their first language. Make another pretentious and belittling post and you're banned.

Probably laugh.
At least I hope so.
If I was an author and I had written this story that far I would make them a couple later on.
Of course she shows him her boobies after the first very romantic kiss.
A pretty fair one.
Actually a quite unfair one as it assumes the most negative interpretation.
The question of TonyP not ever feeling pain before was not a serious question. No shit he has, who hasn't? We were simply trying to figure out why someone would make such an asinine comment calling a now legless soldier a douche bag. He responded seriously to the question so it's assumed that he must think that his opinion is legitimate because of his past painful experiences.
then squaddie was boobies

How come every time I end up with a thread of people attacking me for a harmless post I'm the one who gets punished and nobody else does even when I report them?

Yeah and instead of letting it go people enjoyed telling him how wrong he was based on that assumption you just mentioned.
Nice.

Story of my life.
If Plymouth counts as rural Devon. :v:
