hypocrites
Not justifying it. I am saying this is the end result of both sides doing this except in a tamer style. Using a fear of the other party results in this crap.

The distrust is still apparent in the audience.
I know it's often tempting to think "both sides are bad" because it seems like the most reasonable and objective position to take on an issue, but it's possible that by doing so you are introducing yourself to a bias towards false equivalency when in reality one side might be worse than the other. You might not be seeing the best arguments from either side but your faith in your own objectivity may lead you to falsely assume you are hearing both sides; as a result you might not take viewpoints as seriously as you should or you might put more weight into questionable viewpoints that confirm your false equivalency. I explained the basis behind this "rationality bias" in a previous post:
There is a certain problem of this way of thinking, I'll call it "rationality bias". There may be a seed of truth to what your ideological opponents are proposing, but you won't see it because the individual people you find to argue with don't present the right arguments to convince you or you aren't able to accept their arguments. You'd need to actively search for the best arguments of your opposition to convince yourself- and even if you did that, there's no indication it would actually convince you even if you are wrong. Another issue is that you will eventually become so sure of your own objectively that you will become complacent and simply believe you are correct on the face of it, or worse, you will automatically assume your opponents are idiots because you notice patterns of behavior that correlate with people you've argued with before but might not actually causally relate with how correct they are. There have been tests within the field of cognitive science about this stuff, and it's been effectively proven that no matter how hard you think about stuff or how aware you are of your own implicit biases, you will still be affected by them.
As a result, there is no objective way to claim "both sides are bad" based on your anecdotal experience or knowledge you have collected. The best we can say is "there are bad people in both groups, but the actions of those bad people should not be used to define the whole of either group".
The us is starting to look like during the fall of rome these days.
The us is starting to look like during the fall of rome these days.
The more I watch this election unfold the more I am reminded about Senator Armstrong's vision Kojima predicted everything
More people should be enraged at this. Completely immature and lacks sensitivity for an unfortunate event that calls for an investigation before blaming our political opponents directly.
But its not an unfortunate event... it was actually quite deliberately done by the perpetrators. Saying its 'unfortunate' would imply its completely out of the hands of the people in charge... if this was trump supporters people would shit down trumps neck just as much as trump shits down Hillary neck atm... people need to keep their constituency in check... both trump and hillary. pretending to be any better then the other like Hillary does is just as destructive and inflammatory then pointing fingers like trump does. Its the fucking populares vs the optimates all over again ffs.
The more I watch this election unfold the more I am reminded about Senator Armstrong's vision Kojima predicted everything
Except no omelette will be made because both candidates are too busy throwing eggs at each other.
The us is starting to look like during the fall of rome these days.
Only now? the US is basically rome's entire history condensed into a 300 year re-enactment
'lets put ourselves down to the level of the radical trump supporters, that will show us that we're in the right' fucking idiots. I would hope they get caught and tried for this, if possible.
Only now? the US is basically rome's entire history condensed into a 300 year re-enactment
But US had far less civil wars.
Only now? the US is basically rome's entire history condensed into a 300 year re-enactment
so who is Americas Diocletian
The more I watch this election unfold the more I am reminded about Senator Armstrong's vision Kojima predicted everything
Waiting for Trump to let slip that he's backed up by The Patriots and that the media really is rigged.
The us is starting to look like during the fall of rome these days.
You don't know Roman history very well.
The us is starting to look like during the fall of rome these days.
Then you didn't read up on your Roman history. At all. Where's Augustus Where are the Huns Where's Constantine Where are the two United States-es Where is our crisis of the 3rd Century List goes on. Comparing America to Rome in any which way is so intellectually false, that means I can compare Germany to Lesotho because it has people living in it.
So apparently a spokesperson from the NCGOP went on the news and while talking about what was destroyed mentioned that completed absentee ballots were destroyed inside the office. If that is true, then the NCGOP was committing a Class 1 Felony
But US had far less civil wars.
We were supposed to have several small ones every few years but we just settled to have one big one and end it there.
Only now? the US is basically rome's entire history condensed into a 300 year re-enactment
Haha fucking what
Then you didn't read up on your Roman history. At all. If that's the case, is Trump our Cataline?
We were supposed to have several small ones every few years but we just settled to have one big one and end it there.
Roman Republic and Empire managed to have both, multiple times. I say US is doing a far better job at being stable.
So apparently a spokesperson from the NCGOP went on the news and while talking about what was destroyed mentioned that completed absentee ballots were destroyed inside the office. If that is true, then the NCGOP was committing a Class 1 Felony
Depends on how the absentee ballots were acquired. If those were the absentee ballots of GOP staff who wouldn't be able to vote on election day and were just sitting in the outbox, that would be different.
Roman Republic and Empire managed to have both, multiple times. I say US is doing a far better job at being stable.
Probably due to the fact that, compared to Rome's system of voting, the US electoral system is downright egalitarian.
Probably due to the fact that, compared to Rome's system of voting, the US electoral system is downright egalitarian.
Also it helps US generals can't self-declare themselves a king/dictator/emperor with full support of the army under their command.
Depends on how the absentee ballots were acquired. The firebombing happened on a Sunday; there is no justification for collecting a batch of absentee ballots, even election office coworkers, and keeping them in an electoral office over a weekend. If the firebombing had happened while the office was opening and functioning during a weekday and the absentee ballots from the office staff were truly in a sealed (but not fireproof) "outbox" with the direct intent of them being mailed out with the day's collection, I could see that being something a judge would accept and toss out the case, but it was over the weekend. However, it may be that the election official misspoke or the media misreported the story and they were in fact absentee ballot requests, something that would be totally legal and reasonably ethical for them to have in their possession; this is apparently what happened.
No, not really. Several 30+ year olds have told me that this is the most fucked up shit-flinging election they've ever seen.
Political vitriol the past decade or so has just been awful. People are demoralized and called traitors or murderers/rapists/etc because they prefer a political candidate. And I blame the majority of this on the media for perpetuating and furthering this conflict, working to push Americans to far ends of the spectrum by insisting you're with us or against us.
The anti-fascists are the new fascists.

Identity politics destroys good governance. Both the right and left are to blame for this.
That's some much needed goodwill, good on 'em
We need these people running for office. Is there any way we can return these folks the favor?
I'd imagine he actually means the decades leading up to the end of the Republic. If that's the case, is Trump our Cataline?
I'd say more of one of the Gracchi brothers. Our republic ain't fucked just yet but once we elect someone like them it's all downhill from there as a populist always tries to fix the system but ends up breaking it while doing so.
Only now? the US is basically rome's entire history condensed into a 300 year re-enactment
Let me know when you guys adopt Eastern Orthodoxy. Would the American Julius Caesar cross the Potomac? That sounds lame.
Trump supporters have always been on the aggressive side. Check out this video of 8 and 11 year old girls agitating peaceful protesters to the point where they had to use pepper spray. Completely despicable on the part of those little girls
You don't know Roman history very well.
Baseless comment, 'Looking alike' is entirely subjective to my personal opinion. But i guess the mexicans could be the huns according to trump ;)
I didn't mean it that specific. But i guess the mexicans could be the huns according to trump ;)
If America is anything at all like the Roman Empire, it's already beyond saving at this point.
