This is a double-egded blade regarding rain forests.
Look at Europe. We prospered, got plenty of food and advanced through technology rapidly due to taming the wild and clearing the trees, and we're happy for that.
Now look at the less fortunate countries. Right now they're cutting trees to create farmlands for basic supplies. But the West says "No hunny, you can't do that. It's bad for the enviroment. I know alot of forest clearing is for the woord/illegal trade, and that's bad. But it's a bit hypocritical of the West to say "No" to something that made us where we are right now.
:iceburn: again, fuck those poor nations. They're so fucking corrupt.
If this is true,THE WORLD IS SAVED ONCE AGAIN THANKS TO GERMANY!(I don't know why I said once again lol)
I'm gunna get a pile of boxes now,aren't I?

Thing is, that's an entirely noble goal, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who disagrees with even one of those points, problem is they've been doing it for the wrong reasons.
I thought this was old news?
I've heard people saying this exact thing for a while now. I don't really care who's right, it doesn't concern me.
So? We should still use more efficient energy sources, such as tidal, as opposed to our finite resources we choose to use, like coal.

Or we could go back to good old Nuclear power.
And before one of your faggots mentions Chernobyl, that was the result of bad management. That won't happen in places like Britain, we're much more careful.
Isn't nuclear waste not the best thing to have? I don't know much about it, but the 2 things I hear are that it's got bad byproducts and there is immense bang for your buck.

What are you talking about.
If you think the UN in its current form is capable of creating any sort of world, you're wrong.
Climate change as a subject is such a fuckup to be honest.

Agreed. But the whole point of the climate change thing seems to be to get a world tax going. World tax = world government. Fine. But we won't get much of a say as to who runs it.

its the new world order maaaan
Climategate? What a piece of shit source, dude. You might as well have posted a Glenn Beck video.
Except that pretty much everything Glenn Beck has said and written has a verifyable source. Have you read his most recent book? It has a gigantic reference section.

This is dumb. The UN is an incompetent organization of nations that don't give a damn about anything but their own national interests and silly altruists trying to achieve their goals through sanctions and strongly-worded letters, not an organization of supervillians trying to take over the world.

yes but if all of those sources just say "Rupert Murdoch told me to say it!" and then cite a study done by the Heritage Foundation, it doesn't really matter how big the reference section is.
[editline]10:39AM[/editline]
also the OP's source is a biased, un-journalistic website's article about a big pile of shoddy science that most of you dummies probably didn't even read before posting "AHAHA GLOBAL WARMING DISPROVEN YOU FAGGOTS"
Exciting. I still don't understand global warming. I think we should try to be friendly to the environment, but not because of global warming.
Exciting. I still don't understand global warming. I think we should try to be friendly to the environment, but not because of global warming.
The thing is that most people don't give a shit, so maybe they did make up a big hoax to fool the masses into finally treating our planet correctly. Or maybe it is real, in which case we are probably fucked.
Isn't nuclear waste not the best thing to have? I don't know much about it, but the 2 things I hear are that it's got bad byproducts and there is immense bang for your buck.
97% of France's energy comes from Nuclear, but nobody complains about them. The reason Nuclear isn't advancing is common phobia by the public. The only way to be able to deal with the waste is to embrace it as a power source. There are over 50 Nuclear plants in operation in the US, but without more it will not meet the demand of power. That and we still use Steam for it. Which is a highly inefficient means of generation.
Makes sense, except for using the waste as a power source. What`s that about?
Why don't we just bottle the CO2 and use it as an additive in greenhouses?
I haven't read the paper, but I have read the article. The person who wrote the article does not understand how global warming works at all. The article seems to think that heat is solely transferred by conduction and convection, when it is also transferred by radiation.
The premise of their argument is that CO2 accumulating in the upper atmosphere cannot raise the temperature of the ground because heat doesn't flow from cold to hot (i.e. heat doesn't flow from the cold upper atmosphere to the warm lower atmosphere).
This is wrong - CO2 is increasing the Earth's albedo, which means that it cannot reflect as much heat as it otherwise could. This is not solely based upon conduction and convection, but radiation as well. They also seem to be forgetting that the "greenhouse effect" has actually been observed in real life.

Actually, they're chopping down every tree in sight to sell to the West.
How hard can it be to just fucking plant seeds every time you fell a tree?

Regrowing a rain forest isn't that simple.

I heard somewhere there's a new technology where instead of just throwing the Nuclear Waste away you can actually "burn" it as more nuclear fuel.

It's mostly developed countries' corporations that are exploiting the rainforest and the people there.
Fuck this shit! who do we believe?!?!

No one wants a better world unless it benefits them.
