I want that to be true but I just don't think it's going to happen at this point. It'll be ten years since episode 2 came out next year. And that will make Half-Life 3 the longest Valve game in development since Team Fortress 2 which took ten years to be developed. If it doesn't come out within the next two years it'll be eleven years. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it did happen though.

And if you look to your right you'll see the empty spot where Half-Life 3 was going to be.

Those leaks don't mean anything they could be from years ago and Half-Life 3 could have been cancelled a long time ago or simply doesn't exist and Valve is just teasing their fan base. To get them to buy more Valve games in the future in hopes that Half-Life 3 might come out. Half-Life 3 is literally the carrot on the stick at this point.

Except the text leaks literally reference the VR shit Valves only been doing the past few years, one of them apparently using terminology they only started adopting sometime last year.

Stupid, baseless, meaningless argument.
Think about it like this:
Half-Life 3's story revolves around the Borealis, which is Aperture.
Portal got super fucking big, thus, theres more pressure as you need to please two different audiences with one game.
Now add in the Source 2 engine swap and Valves usual elongated dev cycle, combine it with the corner they kind of wrote themselves into with the likely unexpected massive success of Portal and it starts to make some more sense why its taking so long.
Yeah, they're being quiet about it, but theres no reason to believe they're not working on it when we have exponentially more proof that they are. Theres the leaked code, the leaked concept art, the Jawa trackers that have been leaked numerous times. You dont make a new game engine to not make games on it.
You're just being cartoonishly pessimistic. Always so ridiculously, unrealistically pessimistic to an insane degree contrary to reality. Every Valve thread has this shit. Can we go ONE thread without this shit, for once, PLEASE.

No hard feelings I actually hope you're right I'm just not getting my hopes up so if nothing does happen I won't be disappointed.
