yeah dude thats totally what will happen the terror men won
sure sounds like it when people are being prohibited of flying because their name barely sounds like Al Qaeda.
The whole "no fly list" needs to be scrapped. It's a blatant violation of due process where you don't get to argue your case, and don't get to see the evidence being brought against you. For fuck's sake, 9/11 was 14 years ago. It's time for America to get over the temporary insanity relating to all things aviation and terrorism and start reintroducing common sense. The only reason the 9/11 hijackings were successful was because Americans believed the best thing to do was sit calmly in their seats and wait for the plane to land and ransom negotiations to start, because that's how hijackings always ended up until that point. Now, if you attempt to hijack a plane, every single passenger will beat you to death. It's just not going to happen again, and it has nothing to do with no fly lists or the TSA.
This, spot on what i think. However we shouldn't forget 9/11 because of that, if there is something that angers me more then these stories it is when people make dumb jokes about 9/11.
Well there should be an appeals process behind the no fly list as well you should probably be told ahead of time if you are on said list
In case you dont know, police software guesses at how the name is said based on its spelling. Its wrong most-all of the time. You would get hits for warrants or terrorists that at only 1 or 2% accuracy
As if terrorists used obvious names in order to meet in America, or to even hijack or bomb the plane.
This is why Americans are ridiculed as idiots. Because of stupid shit like this. [editline]29th April 2014[/editline] Oh great, not only that, her name is of Yugoslav origin. Which means it's probably really pronounced Ajda Alič or Alić. As in "Ayda Alich", completely different phonetically than god damned Al Qaeda
As if terrorists used obvious names in order to meet in America, or to even hijack or bomb the plane.
Yes, hello, I am Marty Dirdum, and I would like a one way ticket to the infidel president's most vulnerable location, please.
America DOES know that Al Qaeda is not a person right?
America is saved once again!!!!! Seriously this has to be a fucking joke, If my name was "Sam Gunn" would security tackle me when i flashed my passport?
America is saved once again!!!!! Seriously this has to be a fucking joke, If my name was "Sam Gunn" would security tackle me when i flashed my passport?
Up to them. I heard that some security are nice enough that if you tell them a security joke, kinda like "want to see my gun?", they would ask you first: "Sir, do you wish to retract that statement?", at which point you have to say yes. Some would tackle you right away and bar you, though. The name thing is a joke, though. Honestly, which Al Qaeda fuck in their right mind would make their name even give off even a slight hint that they belong to the organization? I always imagined terrorists to blend in, shave, and use the most generic name possible. Time for airport security to employ at least a bit of reverse psychology I would think...
For fuck's sake, 9/11 was 14 years ago.
As of this current date, 9/11 was twelve years ago. You must be a terrorist for not knowing that! Off to the no-fly list for you!
America DOES know that Al Qaeda is not a person right?
I honestly don't know what America knows anymore with all the stupid shit they pull these days.
I just wonder what went through their minds "This innocent women's name supposibly sounds like al Qaeda SHE IS A THREAT TO ALL OF US AND MUST BE BANNED OR SO HELP ME"
Is there anything to say that's the actual reason? The article makes it sound like they didn't give her a reason, but she thinks it's because of her name.
An usual in America, I think it has to do with liability vs. good nature. If workers let her on, and she happens to be a terrorist, the worker is blamed. But even then it wouldn't be an issue of the worker's performance, because it's the security company's rules and guidelines, making the company liable.

At least they no longer pester trucks that are "laden".
Al Qaeda's aren't called every 15 minutes, and factor in that anyone using the PA system at an airport is Middle Eastern with terrible English skills, panic ensues. Edit: people take things way too seriously, must be the ones who would panic over this.
Her name is Aida Allic. When you you call someone over the intercom you dont say "Macdonald, John, you are wanted in Gate 3"
