I'm not really sure what's the huge difference between these legs and a wheel, if it needs a downward slope to walk. It's obviously more controlled in terms of speed, but I don't exactly see the potential other then what they mentioned (assisting walking).

It's not a robot. What it IS is a very nifty mechanical device, which will probably find quite a number of useful applications (I hope).
If we ever have to fight an army of these, all we have to do is build a fort on top of a hill.
Would work better if it had wheels
