You can sell something like Fox News to people? Holy shit. Shit-coated rocks for sale! Shit-coated rocks for sale!
Just wait until some major tragedy or a terrorist attack, then NewsCorp will be accused of making money off of a terrorist attack...
Uh no, newspapers have been doing that for years.
Hey it's simple. They will either make money from this or they won't. If they don't, they will simply just go back to normal.
o The Sun
bahahahahaha
The problem with this idea is that nobody will buy newspaper content from him when there is such things as wikipedia, google, BBC News and countless other, just-as-good if not better FREE sources than his paid ones.
Meh. Facepunch is my news source :buddy: Even though FP gets it's news articles from other news sources...
Oh really?
you are just filled with impotent conservative rage, aren't you?
So? We'll just go somewhere where we can get the news for free. Old fashioned business plans have no place on the web.
Let them do it, they'll learn from their mistakes.
Even news from the Onion are more of a value, so nobody cares
http://news.bbc.co.uk/ Problem solved.
http://english.aljazeera.net/ Solution Improved.
There is only 1 site that was actually good in that list that he owns. And that is Hulu, because youtube sucks.
The only important thing I see is the Wall Street Journal.
It is owned by News Corporation too.
http://english.aljazeera.net/ Solution Improved.
It belongs to Arabs? No thanks
I get news from the BBC and CNN. Fox news is for suckers
http://english.aljazeera.net/ Solution Improved.
Seriouspost al jazeera is a better source of news than pretty much any major american service
Moneybags Murdoch. His greed knows no bounds, he will not stop until he owns all news and media outlets. Blogs + Wikipedia > All conventional news outlets for the simple reason that there are a million different viewpoints being expressed by bloggers about the same current events, and a patchwork of comments and analyses can be drawn forth.
He's clueless about how the internet works, it seems.
Eh, if I have to start the whole "underground news" thing again, fine :S
I read The Independent and The Times in paper form, but as said before I use the BBC for online news.
It makes sense seeing as newspaper sales are dwindling. Not that I like the idea. Also OP, what does the '00 and '04 Bush campaigns have to do with it? So he was a Bush supporter, so what? A lot of people were Bush supporters back then.
Nothing of value was lost.
We're talking about web news, not TV news, right?
Well, it's not as if I asked for Murdoch's bullshit masquerading as "news." If I am not paying for journalistic integrity, then what am I paying for?
Guy's, this dude owns the Dow Jones as well.
