Google services are very hit-or-miss it seems. They have absolute gems like Google Search, Google Docs, Google Translate, Google Chrome, Google Calendar, Android etc. etc. etc., and then really forgettable stuff like everything in the Google graveyard. I hope this will be one of their successes.
I think the important thing here is not the number of successes or failures, it's that they keep trying new things; the simple fact Google is willing to keep exploring new ideas is amazing.
I'll use this
This is good, I have been wondering why android has absolutely no default note taking app in the ecosystem. Even something as simple as the apple notes would be good but you always have to use a third parto solution. This will be good.
I was wondering this too, maybe they'll rip this through android like they did with google settings
Hopefully it's public soon, looks really nice and I'd love to leave Evernote. You can already kind of use Google Tasks for this, but it's not very fancy, and I also noticed that it has a note "length limit" because my older information started disappearing. Thankfully it wasn't anything too important. https://mail.google.com/tasks/canvas
I'm dug too far into Evernote to be compelled to switch that easily. Seeing Google's online focus, I doubt they'll have a desktop client as rich as Evernote - if they even have one at all. Evernote's data usage model of limiting transfers while providing unlimited storage is better for notes than the finite space of Google Drive anyway.
