• YouTube testing a layout change that is actually good

I hope they finally stop defaulting the bottom part to share once the video is done and rather keep the description as the default view.
So close Youtube! I like how this is my custom CSS for Youtube, and how closely it resembles the new change: [t]http://i.imgur.com/iC2tw2N.png[/t] That is what I want natively. Right now it's this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/b1impJY.png[/t] / [t]http://i.imgur.com/VsjYnnT.png[/t] But at least they finally listened. I gave them feedback on this so many times.
How do you get this option to stick? This hack works for the instance I have YT open but the moment I close out of chrome YT is back to normal.
then don't use it?
Not an option. Google will force it down everyone's throat regardless of opinion just like they have the past 20 layouts.
YouTube won't stream something your connection can't handle, they put a lot of work into that kind of stuff
And none of it is functional. I had to get a third party addon for Firefox to stop Youtube from automatically going to full HD when I fullscreen a video. This I imagine is no different.
not google's problem
There is already a solution to this. You can go into your settings and turn on an option thats something like "Always buffer in standard quality" or something like that. When I had 150kbs internet, it would only buffer in 360
Mine switched to the new layout 2 days ago, and then it went back to the old layout?!
The only change I want is the old comments system back. This one is not in order by date and it fails to work properly in Steam browser whenever someone sends me a video.
I've never actually had that checkbox do anything personally. It still loads in 480p by default for me whether it's ticked or not.
There used to be an option to force videos to load in 720p straight away and it was really great for people with decent download speeds that could handle it. However, it was removed a few months later because, y'know, functionality is for faggots, right?
You're suppose to hit the little square in the bottom-right corner of the player to get the videos on the side. It looks waaay better that way.
That's what the first comparison is for. I just chose to show it the other way as well, since that is actually different.
The one thing that would make this better is if they were to switch the suggested bar from vertical to horizontal, and place it under the video, while centering the video player
I love this change, it's just too bad it's not permanent. Whenever the cookies refresh I have to add the code again.

Instead of having the cookie expire at the end of the session set it to expire at some later date.
Sorry to bump a month old thread. I was really liking this new layout format for videos, but today the command stopped working for me. Did they remove it? I don't really just want a resizer since I like the related videos being on the side of the video and I haven't found a resizer add-on that does that (all of them just move everything below the video). Does anyone who use this option notice it being gone too? If so, that's a shame. If anyone knows an add-on that does this I would appreciate it if you could post it here.

I don't see what was wrong with that as a first post
Google needs to create a script that randomly generates a layout every 5 minutes
wow great i can't wait for this. viewing youtube currently in 1440p is such a pain
Google needs to create a script that randomly generates a layout every 5 minutes
You mean they don't already??
Im curious why the OP image is in incognito mode. What crazy shit are they browsing on youtube.
What crazy shit is there even to browse on Youtube?
You have no idea.
What crazy shit is there even to browse on Youtube?
A monkey forcing a frog to give it oral, for starters.

So I guess this doesn't work any more, such a shame, it was the best layout for a while.
