Mmmm, nope.
You can replace Remote Desktop with TeamViewer or something similar, home users pretty much never use Windows Domains and BitLocker's not worth $80 So essentially Pro doesn't matter unless you're big enough to need domains, in which case $200 is probably chump change.
how about add classic 2000 theme ?
Yes let's cater for the 2% of people who want it. Hmm no. I don't know any other OS's that let you choose an old theme, because no one really wants it. Just install Windows 2000 in a virtual machine if you want some nostalgia
I thought Windows still includes the classic theme, even all the way up to 8?
I thought Windows still includes the classic theme, even all the way up to 8?
Classic theme is still in Windows 8 but is only used when both Metro and legacy Aero classic fucks up
I thought Windows still includes the classic theme, even all the way up to 8?
Up to 7
still redundant until there's good reasons to stop using windows 7 and it won't make any waves in the corporate world because most of them are still using windows XP and couldn't give a flying FUCK about any of the shit that Windows 8 brought in I installed windows 8.1 on a couple of computers in my office, and the response from the workers on those computers was overwhelmingly negative to the point that they just started booting into XP. Now I hate XP, but I'd far sooner use XP than Windows 8.1 on a day to day basis. Rate me dumb all you want but it won't change the fact that companies do not give a shit about using windows 8 and probably never will
A lot better, but i guess they haven't done anything to the "move mouse to the nondescript corner to open the options menu that takes up half the screen"? :v: On tablets it works fine but moving my mouse up a corner disrupts me really badly.
I'm a Windows 8 user, but to play devil's advocate, that's exactly the kind of thing that's annoying about Windows 8, that everything is hidden and unintuitive. I'm a power user, so I had read a lot articles about Windows 8 when it came out, so I knew how to do everything, but it was still an annoying learning curve.
I didn't have to read any articles name for ones for extra programs
Yes let's cater for the 2% of people who want it. Hmm no. I don't know any other OS's that let you choose an old theme, because no one really wants it. Aero can sometimes screw with windowed gaming and regardless why should my OS be sucking up extra GPU just to look fancy. I don't care about seeing a sliver of desktop behind my windows.
I'll probably stick with the start screen, it's a lot better than the menu really
That's not the Start Menu I loved. The one I know doesn't have useless shit off to the side and has something called "programs", not "apps".
That's not the Start Menu I loved. The one I know doesn't have useless shit off to the side and has something called "programs", not "apps".
Why would Microsoft completely ditch Metro after shoving down our throats for a few years now?
It just goes to show that you've got to keep whining until you get what you want :v:.
Cute. While you're at it, where's your Futurama avatar or Bob and George profile link? 2003 called, by the way, it says you've still got its copy of Vice City.
Confirmed for "doesn't know shit". Chrome is a nice, polished product out of the box, but if you want real control over your browser you need Firefox. Firefox is more secure once you add any one of a bunch of security addons, and is more private because it doesn't collect any data for sale (like Chrome does). Last, the web development addon selection for Firefox makes it impossible for me to switch to Chrome (though the selection for Chrome has improved a lot over the past 2 years). It's basically the classic iOS vs. Android argument: polish vs. control. Chrome is actually a good browser, but it's not what I want.
OH MY GOD NOT A DIFFERENT WORD!!
but why would they change it? for what purpose? i get it if they change it on tablet but on a regular pc? no
but why would they change it? for what purpose? i get it if they change it on tablet but on a regular pc? no
Probably because that's what the vast majority call them these days.
but why would they change it? for what purpose? i get it if they change it on tablet but on a regular pc? no
they didn't "change" anything. app is just the colloquial shorthand for an application. it can mean either a desktop application or a touch friendly application. there's literally no other difference, and naming them different things accomplishes nothing (especially when the touch friendly apps and the desktop apps can be built on the same damn architecture)
Probably because that's what the vast majority call them these days.
shame really, it sounds so god damn stupid it just reminds me of early iphone days i will never start calling them 'apps' :v:
I like app, it is short and easy to say.
I like app, it is short and easy to say.
How about prog ?
How about prog ?
How about no?
How about prog ?
That's a subgenre of rock.
Check out my new progs.
Check out my new progs.
The reason application is shortened to app is because it's 4 syllables, there's damn near no reason to shorten program.
How about no?
If you want App-le's iOS lingo taking over the world then by all means.
