I laughed caused it's random and I'm an athiest.
At least we're creative.
There's a billboard near me with a gory pic of jesus on the cross and it says something like "jesus died for your sins". Maybe if I were a disrespectful asshole I could do something to it...
I'm pretty sure you can't change the Pledge of Allegiance.
Une Nation indivisible
I'm pretty sure you can't change the Pledge of Allegiance.
Er, hello? The god bit was not in the original, as I recall. Just return the damn thing to what it was before.
I'm pretty sure you can't change the Pledge of Allegiance.
Really? Might want to go back in time to 1942 and tell congress that.
I still find it amazing how deeply religious the USA is. I mean, in Britain, the majority of people I could ask would say they don't believe in God or don't follow a religion.
Quick, someone get up there and do this: [editline]12:37AM[/editline] You know? Because religion divides people?
I still find it amazing how deeply religious the USA is. Bah, after the holidays I'm going to sit down whenever the giant of a chaplain does the christian invocation. Not fat giant, but taller than any other person I have seen
I still find it amazing how deeply religious the USA is. The biggest problem areas is the south east, where the bible belt is located. You can literally drive every 100 feet here and run into another church. Churches in the south are like Starbucks Coffee shops.
For the record, those who are debating, atheism does have symbols. The happy human symbol is the federally recognized symbol, and the hydrogen atom is also commonly used.
Is that a cooltext logo in the pic from the source?

The most common symbol I see these days is the Scarlet A.

Just because someone has different beliefs than you doesn't mean they have a problem. :colbert:
Er, hello? Rapture monkeys and Dominionists anyone?
"Problem areas"? Just because someone has different beliefs than you doesn't mean they have a problem. :colbert:
itt we're extremely naive about religion
I thought the Happy Human was the symbol for Secular Humanism? Scarlet A, huh? Like the Anarchy symbol?
So, they retaliated... this is clearly an act of desperation, and also proves the billboard served its purpose perfectly. Again, I applaud these brave men for standing up for what's true and right in the world. :golfclap:

It's been a pretty common symbol for a few years now

<-- Stop suffering But in general, we don't really give 2 shits about religion around here
There's a billboard near me with a gory pic of jesus on the cross and it says something like "jesus died for your sins". Defacing a billboard of Christ would be a much bigger offense against them than spraypainting "UNDER GOD" on that billboard was.
There is a billboard on a main road I travel on every day that tells people to read their Bibles (I live in Australia). I have this intense desire to replace "Bible" with "Qu'ran". Maybe "Read Dianetics" [editline]10:21AM[/editline]
Come on. Defacing a billboard of Christ would be a much bigger offense against them than spraypainting "UNDER GOD" on that billboard was.
Why? What makes their beliefs any more worthy of respect than ours? [editline]10:25AM[/editline]
I still find it amazing how deeply religious the USA is. I mean, in Britain, the majority of people I could ask would say they don't believe in God or don't follow a religion.
Same. In my philosophy class (Australia), there are only 4 or 5 religious people (out of a class of 23ish).
who even cares about that stupid pledge
You're fucking stupid. I care about that pledge. Do you know why? Because from the day I started pre school I was taught to say that pledge day after day after day until the day I graduated from middle school. And so is every other kid who doesn't know better. That pledge, which is the only legal pledge of my nation, the only one that have a choice of saying in a court of law and the only one I am given to legally give my full support and loyalty to my country should I need to, contains the words UNDER GOD, forcing me to disregard my beliefs and pledge my loyalty to a Christian nation. It also forces me to disregard my beliefs in a federal and often times state court, and to disregard my beliefs and pledge my loyalty to a Christian state should I need to in any other case. It isn't some 'stupid pledge' and people do give a fucking shit about it. I don't want to pledge my allegiance to a Christian state, and I don't want to pledge my allegiance under God. I want my goddam right to freedom of religion or lack there of to be respected, and I want my fucking nation to enforce the supreme court precedent and the founding father's suggestion of separation of church and state. I want to legally be able to pledge my fucking allegiance and loyalty to my country without needing to pledge it under god, to god, or to a state under god.
Last time i checked Brazillians spoke portuguese, and that's not portuguese.
Yep that's spanish... d'uhh :v: I meant that all of Brazil was doing over the last couple years is swarm all of South America with televangelists, with their broken spanish (which sounds AWFUL) and their bullshits *rage*
