Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out it wasn't a Christian, but some dude with OCD who noticed the words missing and just had to fix it because it would tear him to shreds for the rest of his life if he didn't?
That would be. It goes to show how quickly people assume things I suppose.
At least we're creative.
Also one more thing, why can't you Atheist (not all of you, just some) be a little bit more open minded I mean really what's the worst that could happen if you went by the ways of the bible. It provides a great moral code, and enhances good character. Just visit your local church one Sunday morning and see how it is, preferably a Church of Christ.
Open-minded is not following the first religion that you come into contact with, and let's not forget that we atheists ARE the minority. More Christians need to think to themselves, "Maybe there isn't a God.", then they must decide whether or not they believe in one. I have wondered whether or not there is a God many times. I have always come to the conclusion that there isn't one. So most of us thought about it, now it's your turn.
Christians are actually very creative after all they made up the bible.

This is true. I do love a good fiction.
so they can have jesus signs and shirts and all their bullshit everywhere, but we can't have a sign?
I've seen many Atheists vandalize the Bible and other Christian signs signs and symbols...
I've seen many Atheists vandalize the Bible and other Christian signs signs and symbols...
Big difference there. This was something a person paid for and put up on land the billboard company owns. It's criminal vandalism. A bible is something you can just buy on your own. And it's not an "atheist sign", it's just a secular statement, learn the difference.

True, shouldn't have use the word vandalism but as a sign and defacing what it means... its been done before by both sides
True, shouldn't have use the word vandalism but as a sign and defacing what it means... its been done before by both sides
Uh... this is a textbook definition of vandalism. Why shouldn't I? And yea, no shit it's been done by both sides, anyone who does this is an asshole. I don't condone some atheist defacing a non-secular billboard either.
Why does every one hate Christians because a small group of Christians did something stupid.

Christians have done much worse things in the name of their God.
Nothing is more powerful than God
and anything is more powerful than nothing.

I meant "I shouldn't have used it" and I don't know how you got I said you condone defacing Christian symbolism, still I think both sides need to back off.
Christians have done much worse things in the name of their God.
You are probably just saying that because you saw some news story that had the word "Christian" in it, then assumed that all christians are "dumb ppl hoo r stupid becuz dey haff a dipherent beleef den us
I meant "I shouldn't have used it" and I don't know how you got I said you condone defacing Christian symbolism, still I think both sides need to back off.
I misunderstood, sorry. But really, what do we need to back down from? We're just trying to get more public acceptance and recognition of our... group, I guess. We aren't, or at least any reasonable atheist isn't, out there defacing billboards and being a public nuisance.

You gotta be trolling, cause you can't be serious about that assumption.

lol thats so funny!!!11
Seriously. Not every Christian is bad, just extremists.
Hey guys don't worry about Christians they believe in a zombie guy who gave birth to himself only to kill himself for the sins that he gave us in the first place. That's just silly!
Everybody knows we were placed here by Giant Spaghetti Monster.

May you be touched by his noodly appendages. If you want to join our religious movement you are more than welcome to. Also you must be informed that we reject the theory of gravity and theory of germs because they are just theories and it makes more sense to believe in our noodly lord. There is clear evidence of him because of the beautiful things we see in our world. It must have been made by him. Thank you for your time.
I am within full constitutional rights to mock your beliefs. Religion is not equal to things like race and sexual orientation, which you can not control. As I am allowed to mock someone for believing in leprechauns, I can make fun of you for believing in Jeebus. The only "god" hypothesis which isn't completely ridiculous is deism. Quit your crying please.

Define extremists. Because I would say what something like Focus on the Family (I think that's the organization) is doing with regard to anti-homosexuality activism in the US and especially something like supporting the Ugandan death bill is a very bad thing, but most people wouldn't classify them as extremists. Would you classify the Mormon Church as extremists? They're doing horrible things with their support of Prop 8 and the like. It's not just extremists, it's dozens of organizations of evangelical and conservative people doing awful, awful things for this nation. It's crippling to just look at the world scale, religion's impact on society is a much more insidious and subtle thing, and one of the reasons separation of church and state is vital. Secularism isn't atheism, it's jut keeping religion and politics in their rightful and separate places.
EDIT: One of the biggest pro-secular groups in the US, American's United is headed by Barry W. Lynn, an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and pretty far from an atheist.
I just realize i ranted a bit there, sorry :v:

Blasphemer. Thou shalt contract STD's and drink stale beer in Pastafarian hell.
Now lets go shoot each other and halt modern progress because of it.

yah srsly peopl
though waht extremists are exactly or how many of them exist im not going to say because then i would have to present something resembling an argument
They should at least paint over the vandalism for now, so they don't have to wait a week just to replace it.
I wouldn't expect it to be a very creative modification, it's more of a statement. I really dislike vandalism.

To assume a typical Christian doesn't question if God really exists is a bit silly. Of course there are the Christians that have no doubt that there is a God, just as there are many atheists who have no doubt that there isn't a God. Kind of the same, kind of different, but both groups are annoying in my opinion because they both like to make their opinion heard. I'd say most Christians aren't so sure and their belief teeters. What probably gives the impression that they believe so strongly is that when a sensitive belief is questioned, a person will usually become very defensive.
Understanding how people could come to different results is good though. Some people do some thinking and find that they don't believe in God and others find that they do. Both outcomes are completely legitimate. But I agree with the point that people do need to think for themselves more and not to be afraid to question.
They can't make you say it, can they? I just stand up, but I don't pledge or salute the flag, and neither does almost everyone else in my class.
You had to in Elementary School, but in High School all you have to do was stand.
Why don;t you guys believe in leprechaun zombie unicorns. You all are SOOOOOOO close minded.
No. Just no.

Of course you are allowed to make fun of whatever you want. But it seems like you are trying to make a separation though by pointing out you can't control race and sexual orientation which is implying that it is alright to make fun of religion but not race or sexuality. Why is the separation needed? Should there be a separation?
You had to in Elementary School, but in High School all you have to do was stand.
In elementary school I don't think most teachers told you that you had an option in doing it. But in high school a lot of students find out they have an option and decide not to do it.
