Two things will come of this.
Jamacia will become poorer and they won't be allowed to get easy immigration into the uk.
Good job Jamacia, i'm sure my jamacian friend is right behind you!
I don't think that removing the queen as their head of state will cause their economy to collapse.
I don't see anything wrong with it. The Queen is symbolic and has no power whatsoever. She can "advise, encourage, and warn" but that's for the British Prime Minister. Just like what the other posters said, it doesn't change their status on the Commonwealth, I mean, you have a former Portuguese colony in the Commonwealth and I'm certain they don't have the Queen as the head of state.
Who cares? As long as they bring in more money than we give to them who actually gives a crap?
Well, it is great that royal family doesn't run everything any more. A monarchy who controls everything is fail system, people born to be leaders on a silver platter have no educated experience in politics, laws, ect.
That is why you need to earn leadership just like in most countries nowadays.
i wonder if they'll rename port royal to port president
I hope all goes well for them and they achieve their independence. :tiphat:
Death Penalty.
Excuse me

It's more of a trade union than being our bitch.

According to a recent report by the treasury they actually bring in £500 millions worth of revenue.

I doubt he'll remake the video every single time the treasury releases their new figures.

I'm not complaining about the video, just saying that it's been recently announced at £500 million, showing that it's gone up since then.
Now for Australia to do the same.
This just in, Jamaica finaly remembers it is part of the British monarchy.

Erm, Britain was one of the first countries to actually wrestle power from the monarchy and give it to government instead, we were way ahead of most countries at one point.
I've always wondered how many people from Britain think we should have a monarchy
Argree if you think we should have a King, Disagree if you think we shouldn't
I'd probably get alot of hate, but is it wrong that I'd prefer the Monarchs actually have power, rather than just being an aesthetic thing? Even if it's just some not-full-on power, just some to show that they're still Monarchs would be kinda good.
Next step; Australia, hopefully.
I don't want a new flag or national anthem.
I don't get it. People go on and on about wanting independence from England (who don't really do anything to them or vice versa), especially other members of the UK, and yet Ireland are still relying on us for bailouts... What's so hard about being part of the Commonwealth?
I was under the impression that you can be a member of the Commonwealth without the Queen being your official head of state.
In fact, there was an African country which joined the commonwealth fairly recently. It's basically just a political agreement and economic alliance of sorts. It no longer has anything to do with being part of the former British Empire. All it involves is recognition of Queen Elizabeth II as the head of the organisation, not of each member nation.
Mozambique and Rwanda were never British colonies but have since joined the Commonwealth of Nations.
The member states cooperate within a framework of common values and goals as outlined in the Singapore Declaration. These include the promotion of democracy, human rights, good governance, the rule of law, individual liberty, egalitarianism, free trade, multilateralism, and world peace.[1] The Commonwealth is not a political union, but an intergovernmental organisation through which countries with diverse social, political, and economic backgrounds are regarded as equal in status.
It brings tons of money into Britain, why get rid of it?
So Jamaica are still staying in the commonwealth and just getting a different head of state?
As a Half Jamaican Brit, I am disappointed.
What's so hard about being part of the Commonwealth?
Nothing. It's just a talk shop.
I didn't even know Jamaica had our monarchy or used to be part of our empire so I've no right to care about this
We broke away from the Crown before it was cool.
