It's funny that there will probably always be room-sized supercomputers that will be available in a desktop computer size in the future.
Good news, we already have desktop sized supercomputers. Not as powerful as this behemoth, but will still beat any other consumer desktop on the market.

can it run Crysis 2?

by the standards of the 40s my calculator is a supercomputer
It's red, that's why it's fast.
They should add flames to it. Everybody knows adding flames to something makes it faster. It's common sense
can it run Crysis 2?
Haha, its so funy because no computer can run Crysis 2 on highest settings even though that's bullshit!!LMFAO!!!
H+ pride?
Anyway, sounds pretty impressing
H+ is Transhumanism. Transhumanist advocates are stereotyped as nerdy kids who "woo i want to have my brain replaced with computer"

more like fat kids uncomfortable with their body
Bet it still can't run Pong.
That shit is resource heavy.
Artistic award granted.
It even looks nice. That's not common to hear among the classes of supercomputers since the Cray/SGI days.
It's also SPARC. I love it.

I'm trying to imagine this in my head. :v:
These computers don't have any GPUs so I don't think it can run Crysis.
Well, they have an extreme parallel processing power, so it should be possible to emulate a very powerful GPU.
Wow, a full page in a news thread about Japanese people doing something, and nobody has lapsed into shitty jokes about tentacle porn and panty-dispensers. I'm proud of you, FP

hahah i wonder if they watch tentacle porn on it

FOOLS, YOUR PETAFLOPS HAVE RUINED MY PERFECT IMAGE!

BRING ME AN EXAFLOP!

But the bottleneck to the host system which contains the actual framebuffer would be too big.

Download some more RAM then

I do know what H+ stands for, I was just surprised to see it.
A quick look at my avatar would have told
you that :v:
Impressive, but - will it blend?
Impressive, but - will it blend?
If you've got a blender half the size of a university campus, with a big enough motor, then yes. I assume it will blend. Just like the planet Earth would blend if you had a blender big enough, with a big enough motor. (a really fucking big motor.) (with lots of electricity)
That's actually questionable. While it will certainly be a lot more available and one could see the application for super strong system in various fields to make the process faster, I don't think they will be present in your average home computer.
When you look at it, the average computer has actually slowed down it's speed increase as people suddenly flock more to laptops, tablets, netbooks and similar devices which perform a lot worse but still well enough to be able to work in the everyday lives of the user.
There's a reason your average home computer rarely uses server infrastructure.
the phone i'm typing on now it's as fast as a super computer from the 70's, sup thay trend might continue.
10.51 petaflops? Hah! My computer's got 32.9 gigawhoozles! What now, Fujitsu?
Giga<Peta
The runner up only has:
2010 Tianhe-I 2507,0 TFLOPS National Supercomputing Center, Tianjin, China
Heheheh.
Petaflop.
Can't wait to have a computer with a similar processing power sitting under my desk 20 years later.
Great Scott! 10.51 Petaflops?!
Still couldn't play minecraft though.
Ffft, late. My computer holds 20 petaflops of porn.

I am H+ approving, Although i would never augment myself beyond that of being able to gain electrical or otherwise beneficial energy from outlets/plugs/etc. You really can't generalize like that.
Ah..that's why it's red! The red onez go fasta!
Oh hellz yeah! And everyone knows that if we put blue lights in it, it'll run cooler!
Petaflop is a silly-sounding word. :v:
petaflop
read it slloooowwwlllyyy and loudly
