We should start charging bears with cruelty when they kill weaker creatures.
Don't start this again..
Except you know the light being on while the door was closed and them opening and a fucking kitten coming out. The light in a microwave is generally only on when the door is open or the microwave is on FYI. [editline]13th September 2013[/editline] Even if it wasn't, putting the kitten in that small ass box is cruel in itself.
Kittens love being in small boxes
Oh fuck this. I'm not getting anywhere and I'm tired of reading the same rebuttals over and over again. You win.
We get it!!!!!!! You're EDGY!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vine has videos of like 7 seconds. Even if the video had been nothing but the cat in the oven, with it on, it wouldn't have harmed the thing. This is fucking stupid, but it isn't cruelty.
I am done with the internet.
-this video forum shit dont work bye-
4chan is going to destroy them.
they already got charged, theres basically nothing else that can happen to them rofl^^^^
Having just rewatched the video in slow motion, yes, I see that the cat was in the microwave while it was on, with plate spinning and light one. However, I still maintain that because of the utter lack of injuries, the cat wasn't actually in it for long enough for it to be worthy of an arrest. Though obviously, there is the possibility that they actually did microwave it for a decent length of time. Which would be bad. [editline]13th September 2013[/editline] It looked like it was freaked out by being in a small box with a spinning floor.
its not ok to kill/hurt something just because you failed
They can tolerate temperatures of up to 56 degrees C. Okay. Given that it was not harmed, what makes you think it reached that temperature? Watch that video. That is the least convincing thing I've ever seen, there's three jumpcuts, all at important moments. Just after the cat is put in, before the thing is turned on, and before she opens it. I don't believe that it was actually microwaved, because it's fine. If it was microwaved, then they both deserve a massive kick in the arse, but it isn't cruelty, because it wasn't hurt.
"its not assault if you failed!!!!"
Are you aware of how a microwave over works? The microwaves boil the water inside the food (or kitten), resulting in a nice thorough cooking. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I get the feeling that it would take more than 10 seconds for it to cause any kind of discomfort to the thing, and that's assuming it was actually put in the oven and had it turned on. A taser hurts. I doubt that the kitten felt anything beyond confusion at the spinning plate and the slowly rising temperature. Just looking at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071230230254AApJnjy tells me that it wouldn't have been in there long enough for ANYTHING to happen. [editline]13th September 2013[/editline] The number one reason for me not doing that is that I would be forced to remove the hand.
do you realize that that would have hurt beyond fuck, and in fact slowly killed the kitten? if they were in there long enough http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave_burn
Microwave burns are burn injuries caused by thermal effects of microwave radiation absorbed in a living organism. In comparison with radiation burns caused by ionizing radiation, where the dominant mechanism of tissue damage is internal cell damage caused by free radicals, the primary damage mechanism of microwave radiation is thermal, by dielectric heating. Microwave damage can manifest with a delay; pain and/or signs of skin damage can show some time after microwave exposure.
AKA it'll be a very slow and horrible death if left in there long enough. But it doesn't matter if it didn't get hurt, that's obviously not ok
If the cat isn't hurt, it wasn't cruelty. These two are morons, they should have included a disclaimer or something, but the fact of the matter is that it wasn't hurt. [editline]13th September 2013[/editline] And no, I wouldn't mind if it didn't harm me.
so it's not cruelty if you failed to be cruel? that is the most idiotic thing I've heard in my life.
Vine has videos of like 7 seconds. Even if the video had been nothing but the cat in the oven, with it on, it wouldn't have harmed the thing. This is fucking stupid, but it isn't cruelty.
I'm reading all your posts and wondering how you can even stay ignorant shit like this
Except I flat out stated I wasn't an expert earlier in the thread. But by all means continue to fling shit at me.
whoa that much is obvious lol
Oh fuck this. I'm not getting anywhere and I'm tired of reading the same rebuttals over and over again. You win.
thank god
There is no visual way to tell if a microwave is taking its effect, and by the time there is the damage has already been done. What if the person who put it the pet in the microwave ended up slipping and passing out? Sure it's unlikely but why is it okay to take that risk? No, it's endangering the life of a living being, and that living being is not capable of defending itself, therefore it's abuse. Just because the living being ended up not being harmed doesn't make it any more okay to do.

But she was just making dinner for Alf!
I like how we somehow live in a world where people, under any circumstances, are trying to defend microwaving an innocent, living animal. And by like I mean absolutely despise.
how come so many people in this thread don't know how microwaves or cats work [editline]13th September 2013[/editline] Really, if you're in a microwave that shit can start fucking you up badly after just 2 seconds.
did you microwave your brain sgt-niallr?
They can tolerate temperatures of up to 56 degrees C. Okay. Given that it was not harmed, what makes you think it reached that temperature? Besides; Watch that video. Bottom line, it was just a cat...... If it died it wouldn't matter..
Bottom line, it was just a cat...... If it died it wouldn't matter..
same with you that doesn't mean I'm gonna let people endanger your life
I will rape your mother, it's fine, you won't be hurt
doesn't even slightly compare yeah lets compare raping someone to a dead cat jesus christ dude
And cat is alive and safe.
Whew. Lock them in a sauna for a few hours.
[sp]I had to do it[/sp]
how come everytime I hear about the vine it's people doing something like this
I think we can all agree that it's not okay to put living things in Microwaves
This is just wrong, but the video looks fake as shit though, so I don't know what to think, they could have just turned on the lights inside the microwave (some of them let you do that) and add a pre-recorded sound of the microwave working, or they could be stupid and mentally retarded and actually have done it, we just don't know.
I literally do not believe some of the posts in this thread. Like, I actually think I'm in a dream. I can't even comprehend how somebody could defend putting an animal in a microwave.
my first exposure to vine was scrolling through the "cute" category looking for some good dog fines and all I got was some guy rubbing his hot dog.
That being said someone who goes through all that effort just to make a video of that either: 1) Needs to be locked up in a mental asylum 2) Is a huge troll
If that's the case, then what will they be accused of? if it is fake and no harm came to the cat, then it's just a joke and there's nothing to worry about, I agree that the cat was at risk just being inside it (they could have accidentally pressed the wrong button, I doubt the microwave would come on by itself though) but if it is indeed fake then they probably had no intention of harming the cat, it's like saying people should be punished for playing airsoft because they shoot their friends with tiny balls, they clearly intend on murdering them later.

Is there going to be a point in this thread where people cease throwing arguments against someone that has acknowledged they were incorrect? And besides, moving to harm someone without intent to harm them isn't assault. I though we were all able to realise that.
