I wouldn't even call it an accomplishment, more of a fucking hand-out. There are many talented people who don't get this treatment. The fact that the he got all this treatment for gutting a clock and putting it into a different housing/case is asinine.
Jelly? Its not just about skills. Its about confidence, after all this stuff with Ahmed he's going to have a lot of confidence and support in what he does, along with funding and availability of education. So he will be accomplished, probably regardless of actual talent. Why yall so bitter about someone getting a break anyway? In most cases its not a zero sum game, his gain doesn't amount to your loss unless you will be facing him as competition in some future job.
He cracked open an already made clock and put in a pencil case. His dad is extremely politically motivated, and has tried to run for president in his country. They know politics. This whole situation at this point feels like the dad told his 14 year old son to do this, because coming up with something like this isnt hard at all, it really REALLY isnt. Kids a fucking idiot, all his interviews, and videos afterwards just show how clueless of a kid he is. One of my friends joked about doing this in high school because he was middle eastern, and how he would probably get away with it for pulling the race card, this is just someone who bothered to actually do it. Kids family is very well off and gets sent a fuckload of free expensive shit and college. Its just someone completely undeserving getting a bunch of shit over actual kids who are probably 10x smarter than him who are also way less well off. This whole situation seems very fucked. Give a kid some PR and apparently hes just super deserving of shit?
Its just someone completely undeserving getting a bunch of shit over actual kids who are probably 10x smarter than him who are also way less well off.
So you should be angry at the system/state/the school for not providing for those students rather than being angry at the guy for getting lucky. I guess its easier to diss a kid than it is to criticise a larger more complex system.

Im dissing him and his family for putting on a show, while eating it up and getting shit over actual deserving people. Along with the people who are also eating this up as if Ahmed is ANYONE worthwhile looking up to. His family is pretty fucking well off, and by doing nothing but putting a clock INSIDE of a pencil case, thats it, apparently warrents a full college ride, and a bunch of PR and expensive tech shit? Nah dude, that aint the schools/state doing that.
slaves did not exist in america. you heard it here, folks, thank you based Singo GOD BLESS US OF A
No, thats not what he said at all, holy shit. But no, Slaves did NOT build the houses and towns/cities in the USA. Were their probably slaves that did construction? Sure, would be naive to think otherwise. But slaves really did not build the towns/villages/cities, not even close. How many slaves do you think could even understand construction? You would have had a better argument if you brought up the railroads and how the railroads are a big reason things like cities/towns/societys could flourish, and a lot of track was laid down by slaves.
slaves did not exist in america. you heard it here, folks, thank you based Singo GOD BLESS US OF A
are all anti-americans this stupid
I'm not even angry, if he wants to tout about how gifted he is on talk shows, and get as many opportunities as he has: earning his stripes in a prestigious campus will be the easiest way to call him on his bluff (that is, if he is a fraud).
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
So did the guy actually do anything other than strip a clock and put the components in a briefcase ?
So did the guy actually do anything other than strip a clock and put the components in a briefcase ?
He orchestrated a massive PR stunt.
How long do you guys think it's gonna take before these right-wing cockshits realize that, no, brain drain isn't a good thing?

This kid had an outpouring of support on the internet until he started getting free stuff. I can't help but see all this current derision as anything but childish jealousy.
How long do you guys think it's gonna take before these right-wing cockshits realize that, no, brain drain isn't a good thing?
I dont think any brain is being drained here [editline]22nd October 2015[/editline]
This kid had an outpouring of support on the internet until he started getting free stuff.
This kid had an outpouring of support on the internet until he started getting free stuff. I can't help but see all this current derision as anything but childish jealousy.
I called BS the moment the president reached out to him. I guarantee you a white kid wouldn't have this happen to them.
Do some of you actually believe that his family planned this all out? I bet if he didn't get to meet the POTUS or get a bunch of free stuff, you guys would be supporting him.
I stopped supporting him once I found out he didn't make shit and just put a clock into a different box.
This kid had an outpouring of support on the internet until he started getting free stuff. I can't help but see all this current derision as anything but childish jealousy.
You're damn right I'm jealous. I've worked my ass off to get into the university I am at now, I've worked my ass off to get the grades that I have, and my dad has worked his ass off to afford the money needed to keep me here. Meanwhile this kid rips a clock apart, stuffs it in a briefcase, brings it to school, and plays the racism trump card when he gets suspended for his little trick, then proceeds to have his whole life ahead of him paved with gold because of that. Now don't you think there's something a little wrong about that?
Do some of you actually believe that his family planned this all out? I bet if he didn't get to meet the POTUS or get a bunch of free stuff, you guys would be supporting him.
Uh, no. What he did would have gotten him shat on if he were any other race and called a "retarded bomb prank; what the hell was he thinking?!?".
I don't think people are getting the point. It's not the fact that he cracked open a clock and put it in a slightly different container, it's that he got arrested for that. It's like how all Malala Yousafzai did was get shot on a bus. It's the fact she got shot on that bus for a retarded reason.

Ahmed wasnt in any danger, he did something mediocore which led to dumb people arresting him, he's not really brave or special while Malala actually earned her status.

Dad is very political motivated, trying to become president in his home country. Apparently hes done very questionable shit before but I dont have links so ignore that. I really gave up giving much of a shit a few days after. Family is also well off and politically smart. Do I think this is some grand conspiracy, nah, this is pretty mind numbing easy to pull off considering out society in America and schools especially. None of the companies/president were obviously involved, this begins and ends at the family pushing for their son to just get in trouble, the rest just came naturally for good PR and whatever was topical.

You can't say that it doesn't look like a bomb because it has the wires sticking out of it and most people would just assume that a suspicious package with wires is a possible bomb.

At least 5 workers died building it.

The kid was being an idiot and clearly made something that resembles something similar to a bomb (at least Hollywood style). He was told to keep it hidden and didn't, he knew exactly what he was doing. He was busted and treated stupidly by the cops, which then he played the race card when I don't believe that was the fucking issue. Seeing as people got kicked out of school for making gun shaped poptarts and other stupid shit. An issue with schools is they lack the brain power to deal with situations and just do blanket responses to everything. Without anyone looking in to the "facts" they made him in to a "victim." People praised him and credited him without any real proof or facts. Which is my problem, to many people have knee jerk reactions. Then you get the white house involved so they can get their "feel good kudos points." Now he is getting a full ride to a college in which he did absolutely nothing to earn. He is likely just a puppet for his fathers motivations, his father background is very questionable. I just think there is better talent that could use what he has better. You're right though, i don't have a loss in the matter. Does not mean he is above criticism and that i can't share my disgust with all the politics being played. Almost as good as the white house sending reps to Micheal Browns funeral even when it being proven that Micheal was a scumbag. Mean while the white house has no comment on all the officers being assassinated and BLM being a racist and destructive movement. But the Obama administrations can do all the stupid shit they want now, he can't get re-elected.

I don't think the Sudanese people care much about what happens in the west. How can he possibly use the fact that his son visited the White House and was invited to a bunch of major companies as a way to get elected in Sudan?
Not at all. Make it look like their family is well off enough to be leaders. Really at this point I do think its the family, probably mostly the dad, who started this all, that said, once again none of the companies/president would be involved. That was just dumb PR shit, most likely 100% because of being named Ahmed and his skin color. Like this type of thing is so god damn easy to pull off is one of the other reasons. Did the family know it was gonna get a bunch of free shit? Prob not to the extent they got, but the limelight was all they needed. This wouldnt be the first time parents put their kids up to shit, remember balloon boy?
