do you at any fucking point in the "getting license" process have to show them proof of citizenship
yes!
wat
Because the prerequisites exist for admission (or in the case of the Drivers License, issuing) does not mean that it is proof of those conditions being met
You need a birth certificate, proof of residency, and social security card at a minimum. Most illegals don't have all three.
there are different types of licences. you don't need a SS for a licence
example: diplomats
what you're thinking of is an enhanced licence, which is distributed only in a few states and is basically proof of everything
it acts as a birth certificate and passport

Uh, when I got a standard Indiana drivers license, they asked for at least my SS# and my birth certificate. I had a passport as well, which they looked at. Can't remember if there was more.
I was asked for my birth certificate and SS# just to take the computerized test to get my driving permit.

I don't really understand what you're trying to say, but whenever you get a license you need your social security card.
you guys are going through the CITIZEN'S procedure
when you checked yes on the box that asks are you a citizen, that determined what process you go through

Yes. You have to bring a raised seal birth certificate, or other documentation showing you are in the country legally (such as a residency card, work/school visa, etc)

So what you are saying is, if they lie, then they might sneak through and get one?
If that happens, and they present it to the officer; "Thank you sir, have a hot as all hell day"

You're getting mixed up with foreign exchange students and people jumping fences. If you're a foreign exchange student you already have papers proving you are, including you're in a government computer system.
if you check the "no" box they don't fucking deport you. they ask you for other means of residency documentation. citizens have a faster and more streamlined process.
if you aren't a citizen you have to prove quite a few more things for a license. you morons are getting mixed up between citizenship and everyone else. it is not a proof of citizenship. it just isn't.
[editline]11:35PM[/editline]
I proved your original point to be false
Woot more immigration laws. Being a Florida resident I would like to see this.
Woot more immigration laws. Being a Florida resident I would like to see this.
Well then, clearly you are a racist, biggoted middle class redneck tea partier.:banjo:
Oh no Sgt.Sgt, you're now racist because you support this obviously racist law
hurr

I've completely lost track of what you're talking about. If you're a citizen, you provide proof of citizenship through a SS# and Birth Certificate. If you're a lawfully admitted visitor, you provide your immigration papers instead. Either way, your drivers license is proof of citizenship (or non-citizenship, if you're obviously from another country, in which case they'll obviously still let you go).
Well then, clearly you are a racist, biggoted middle class redneck tea partier.:banjo:
Very wrong actually. As I have stated before I think illegals need to go through the process of entering this country LEGALLY.
Just quit JDK

The laws are not racist. I read over the entire Arizona law and will read over this one once posted. It's not racist.
But you're obviously racist
Because this law is definitely racist
If you don't see how it isn't you're obviously ignorant
:downs:

How is it racist? I can tell you are deliberately trying to get me pissed off but it isn't going to work.
You're missing the point, I'm making fun of JDK and golden's stance on this law. Not youu.

But you DO need some form of proof of being a legal citizen in the US.

"Brown people" don't bother me. Also yes labor costs will go up but so will standard of living. It equals out in the end. Prices on goods may go up but wages will be at a level that will allow you to continue to buy the goods. Walmartization and cutting corners in any area a company can is bad for the nation as a whole.
Also the polls say the majority US agrees with the Arizona law and would like more to follow as well as securing our borders. This poll came from Communist News Network.

And as someone else above said, you are confusing illegal aliens with foreign nationals here legally on programs such as student exchanges, work/school visas and the like...

I never said you needed a SS# if you're foreign. If you're a citizen, yes. If you're foreign, you supply your papers. I find it hard to believe you could honestly misread my post like that.
Sounds good. I love this new trend.

you said a drivers license is proof of citizenship
I've already posted that you don't need to be a citizen to obtain a drivers license
and the other people originally said you need a SS # to get a drivers license - that's false as well
you guys are just grasping at straws at this point

In order to obtain a drivers license you either need to be a citizen (derp) or you need to be a legal foreign immigrant, in which case the legal foreign drivers license would be fine as well, and would certainly quality as "proof of citizenship". Unless you think the police are going to arrest anyone with a legal foreign drivers license?
