I like my internet. I get what I pay for and if its down, dial them up and be like yo wtf bro I don't pay to not have internet and they like we sorry, here's a week of free internet and im like :win:
I live in the only area in Southern California without FiOS access. I have Cox Communications and the net always cuts off every once in a while. However, their customer support is top notch. I'd say this is a pretty good speed considering I only usually stream movies or play multiplayer games. Someday I'll switch to Verizon.
When I see speeds like 40 Megabits and stuff I always go "Holy SHIT" then I realise I have that speed and it's pretty normal these days I'm still used to 8 Megabits for some reason
I use 1.5 megabits ZOOM
I use 1.5 megabits ZOOM
Oh my god, it's someone with internet as shitty as mine! I never thought I'd see the day, thank you, Zeke129, thank you so much for making me feel less alone and poor.
No offense, but for a country like the USA, your speeds are terrible. Lithuania in da house.
I have FIOS and love it. It's never went out on me and the speeds are fucking brilliant.
I can get up to 30 Mb/s on my cable... only problem is that fucking charter limits my upload speed to 1 Mb/s.... WHY?!

I have Verizon fios. I had no idea it was on the top.
Sucks to be you Americans, I love my ISP, they're complete ballers. They're laying a shitload of fiber optic into the ground right now and I even managed to get a work placement there for school.
How much are YOU paying for THAT plan?
They only have to pay around ~25 USD a month for their connections. Same with the connection 2b2t is hosted on. 100mbps for 25$ a month.
How much are YOU paying for THAT plan?
49.90LTL witch is 20.5417342 U.S. dollars per month. [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] Wait. How much are YOU guys paying for your shitty plans?
I don't know where this data is coming from, I have Mediacom, and at best I get 80% advertised speeds, the majority of the day I fall well below 50%
You Americans are lucky. I live in Glasgow in Scotland, one of the biggest cities in the country and I can't get fibreoptics until next year, they haven't put any lines down yet.
Wait. How much are YOU guys paying for your shitty plans?
Upwards of double that for less than half the speed.
Anybody who has fios can tell you this. I have a supposed 25/25 line, but I really get something like 30/20. It's awesome.
I fucking hate AT&T. I never get the speeds that we pay for, we get constant outages, and their customer service sucks. The prices are outrageous compared to other ISPs and we only get 1 Mbps as advertised, yet in reality it's actually like .5 mbps. I wish Verizon came to my area. I've been thinking of switching to Comcast which is the only other ISP in my area, however I'm not so sure about the datacaps and the shared lines. To those who are complaining about 10 Mbps speeds, be grateful you don't have what I have.
Count yourselves lucky. In australia they dont even compete by speed, they compete by data limit. We get one speed, 24mbs, which is never actually 24mbs, and is effectively 1-2mbs anyway since most of all the internets data comes from the states.

So I guess.
Well then, get FiOS out to everywhere ever.
Damnit Verizon GIVE ME FIOS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD
Tl, Dr: Everyone in USA should switch to Verizon Fios.

And here I am in germany at my mobiles HSDPA connection. Pings are around 300 to 1000. The stupid Telekom needs to build a new switch-house because all connections are used.
Im stuck with Time Warner here in NYC with a 1.4MB connection but I cant really complain. I havent had any service issues with them. I would love to be on fios but sadly they dont have it in my neighborhood.
And here I am paying £17 a month for 0.07mbit/s.
Verizon needs more money, to make FiOS better.
I want fios so bad. It's better than the unspeakable shit that AT&T is. Sadly, verizon fios is not available in my area
ahahaha, AT&T ahahaha!
I'm stuck with Time Warner, they have a monopoly in North Carolina or something, they're the only ISP I can find here, their internet is always broken as fuck, sometimes you can download things at 2.5MB/s and other times it can take you five minutes just to load google.com, seriously I hate this shit, it's getting annoying, especially when I want to play any multiplayer game. The worst thing is, I know this guy that lives in California and he has TW too, and he doesn't have any of these problems.
Don't worry bro, I think verizon planned on putting FiOS around here.
