FiOS master race.
Agreed. FiOS 4 LYFE
So I think the stand out lesson here is we need to start judging ISPs to the same standard we judge other utilities. If you don't provide at least 80-90% of the advertised speed at all times, get the fuck out, go straight to court do not pass go, do not receive £200.
The fuck happened with Cablevision in the first graph :v: that shit made me spit up my cereal.
Except for cox cutting out once in awhile, I really like their services.
That damn fiber optic from verizon is something you have to get on a waiting list for.
You Americans are lucky. I live in Glasgow in Scotland, one of the biggest cities in the country and I can't get fibreoptics until next year, they haven't put any lines down yet.
Hey, at least you're getting them. Most people on here will never see fiber optics in their area until the next millennium.
FiOS isn't just great for the speed. More reliable than any other ISP my family's used so far. It's great.
My max download speed is 180kbs...shared between 3 people...and one who is always on face book...i play a lot of single player.
oh man FB they're really chewin up that bandwidth
FiOS is just up the street, but will they bring it down to my neighborhood? No,beacuse Comcast has this town in it fucking claws and most people on my street seem to have Comcast.
oh man FB they're really chewin up that bandwidth
when he's looking at pictures and videos for hours on end yea. One 340p video from youtube will lag me out of any game.
maybe its time that the government starting looking further into this because even though its been known for a while... its outright wrong.
Fios isn't even available in my state. (Michigan)
when he's looking at pictures and videos for hours on end yea. One 340p video from youtube will lag me out of any game.
Set up your router so it gives you priority, least that's what mine is capable of.. :v:
Centurylink/suddenlink - Hate them. I get atleast 30% of what they said :(
And nobody gives a fuck about the country so I am stuck with 1.5 megabits a second down, and no other ISPs to switch to
I'd love to see them do this up in Canada, they'd find that everyone is getting fucked over east of Alberta for internet service. For some reason, Shaw and Telus don't really seem to want to operate in the largest 2 markets in the country, Ontario and Quebec.
i'm with cable vision. :(
I hate comcast too. Speed is fine. Reliability is fucking abysmal. I find myself tethering my phone to my PC more and more to get decent access and even better speed.
I'd take Comcast over Qwest any day. When my parents use Netflix, I can't even watch Youtube videos. Outages are frequent (Though less often than when we first got it) and the speed is the most inconsistent thing I've ever seen. But it's the only one we can afford, but back when we had it, Comcast was 20x better.
'Dat upload speed, dear sweet Jesus.
He's testing his speed on a Verizon building, of course it's gonna be fast. Comcast isn't necessarily bad, it's just not as good as Fios. I don't even have Fios in my area, they came here but never connected the lines or anything. It's stupid.
Switched from time warner to FiOS a while ago. Fucking best decision ever.
Does FIOS have a Datacap..?
Time Warner is decent. It used to be pretty superb, but for some reason it starts cutting out at the most crucial times (like when I'm playing a game). It started happening only recently, and I hope this is an isolated experience and won't continue. I wish I could use FiOS but it's not available in our area, unfortunately
Shit I had no idea Cablevisions service was that bad, I should think about switching.
Does FIOS have a Datacap..?
Mine doesn't
-snip fucked up read next post-
I've always been happy with Charter. Good TV, Good Internet, Good Customer Service. Can't honestly complain. We've had some troubles since the storms of April 27, but we had six telephone poles get completely destroyed, and they still have to work on them every week or so, so I don't blame them for that.
charter represent i remember when they basically doubled our internet speed at no extra cost, that was pretty great
Where I live, 3 Mb/s is $44.95 but 10 Mb/s is $49.99. How the fuck does that work? Oh wait, it says up to 10. No wonder I only get 5 fuck the U.S. broadband infrastructure.
It's funny. I've heard a lot of flack about Comcast in the last few years. My father switched from Verizon to Comcast because Verizon were being dicks with their business class and everything. I was fairly annoyed thinking that Comcast was going to be shitty and terrible. It turns out it's not actually that bad. In fact they are pretty good. Haven't had any problems with them yet.
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1104512-Ask-us-about-the-forums-v15-Super-Turbo-HD-Remix-Gold-Membership-is-5-years-and-100-posts?p=31513234&viewfull=1#post31513234 Just so you know, fuck up once, and they'll rape you forever.
"Fios is currently not available for the state of Louisiana. Since Louisiana is not within the coverage of Verizon's territory, FiOS will most likely not reach the state of Louisiana anytime in the near future." Awesome!
