Sony created the PS3 Slim and it was extremely successful. Now, Microsoft is already now in production to create a 360 Slim. That's how.
I was just joking, anyhow it looks like it will be really damn small. The fan takes like 1/5 of the whole thing.

Microsoft used a long single heatsink in the original Xbox 360 motherboard prototype, with two slim 80mm fan mounted on the top
but can it run crysis
That's pretty much the same as asking if the next windows won't have bluescreens.
Not really, bluescreens are software errors, RRoD is exclusively a hardware error, caused my certain materials used or construction methods. Designing a system is in some ways easier than designing an operating system, matter of fact, most ways. Think of how hard it is to turn a lump of silicon and copper into a multi-purpose device of unimaginable versatility. That's difficult. The nanotechnology and circuit making is comparatively base and simple. Of course they're both pretty difficult, just one is much more difficult.
Where's my Wii slim?
but can it run crysis
Why wouldn't it? Crytek is putting Crysis 2 on 360, and so obviously a normal 360 can run it, and this won't have dumbed down specs. If it did, then so many games wouldn't work right.

How big is the cooler in the OP pic anyway, should be easy to calculate the motherboard size from it.
In case if you have been living in a cave for the past two years or so, the Jasper chipset revision (Released in late 2008) have practically solved the RRoD caused from intense heat already.
Doesn't mean that another problem couldn't cause another round of RRoD's. /attempting to create a counter argument unsuccessfully.
That's stupid, the concept of a slimmer model has been around for a long time. PS2 Slim?
PS1 actually.
I see, fusing the GPU and CPU must have been a good idea seeing as it removes a fan. How big is the cooler in the OP pic anyway, should be easy to calculate the motherboard size from it.
Around the size of a stock AM2 heatsink
So they are making a new version of a old console which can be produced for less money and sell it for even more than the normal one. Nice, I'm getting one.
PS1 actually.
Just giving an example of a slimmed down product from before the PS3 Slim. The idea of slimming down electronic products was around even before that. Wasn't the SNES smaller than the NES?
To put in perspective for people complaining, YES the Playstation did start off with the slim idea for consoles and Microsoft ARE copying Sony in hopes of selling more consoles as the ps3 slim did. Also if it was the other way round the earth would be on fire due to all the flame rants so chill.
So they are making a new version of a old console which can be produced for less money and sell it for even more than the normal one. Nice, I'm getting one.
Didn't they stop manufacturing the bulkier PS2 not long after releasing the SLIM model? I'm not sure if there's a huge increase in price, they'd still make greater profit selling a product that takes less material to produce for the same price.
It's bad really, they really need to add a new cooling system if they want to slim it even more, the Xbox 360 already has a bad problem (the older models), that they made the heatsink smaller for the DVD drive. I won't be upgrading to the new Xbox 360 if the only advantage is "Slimness", no point.

burn baby burn
A small version of a console that is small enough. How interestingly useless.
Not really. A smaller model makes it's placement easier, which is a big problem for some people, like me.
hopefully that will lower the price on the regular 360's
I'm going to wait then, ither the new 360's will be less expensive or if they're more then surely prices will go down for the regular.
That's pretty much the same as asking if the next windows won't have bluescreens.
More like asking if changing the number of dents in a cog will fix jams.
So basically it's the beginning of the end for the 360.
Just giving an example of a slimmed down product from before the PS3 Slim. The idea of slimming down electronic products was around even before that. Wasn't the SNES smaller than the NES?
But SNES and NES are like Xbox 360 and Xbox.
They'll find a way to market smaller, red rings of death.
Not really. A smaller model makes it's placement easier, which is a big problem for some people, like me.
Yeah now the PSU is even bigger than the console.
Will they also slim the brick known as it's power supply?
That is one big fan, but is it any bigger than the normal xbox360 fan?
the hard drive will be of a different shape. so you have to buy another overpriced HDD and i also see no wifi chip or antenna plug.
