They should fit more soldiers with these and if possible a bit better cameras. I mean, a small HD camera is like $200 today, which is minute price relatively to the rest of their gear, and this footage can be pretty useful for training. Still, very interesting footage, I am glad even for what it was.
It seems really frustrating to watch, you have no idea where they are being shot at from and if they get a clue the insurgents have probably ran off.
his noob tubes were all duds
A true all out war would probably look like BC2, but most wars nowadays mostly consist hide and seek, with the weaker side doing the hiding while the stronger side does most of the seeking.
A true all out war wouldn't consist of an apache flying around, mowing down infantry running across deserts with no cover, soldiers stealing the opposing army's helicopters, and dudes loading up quad bikes with C4 and ramming them into tanks
No video game apart from maybe Arma or OFP (the originals) have ever come close to clearly representing what real battlefields are like as far as I know
Project Reality had a good aspect as far as I know.
This reminded me of the film Armadillo, following Danish soldiers in a tour in Afghanistan. Highly recommended, documentary action style.
Maybe you guys should stop discussing games and focus on the video at hand? Thanks for the recommendation [editline]28th May 2011[/editline]
Wow this guy sucks, stop noob tubeing.
:frog: You're not funny
Ignhelper deserves to be slapped for such an attrocious title. That footage was intense, and shows how the warfare in reality is. You most of the time don't know where the enemy is, and you only shoot at their general direction anyway. The taliban fighters are either incompetend or impatient, they ambushed them, twice, and not a single of their shots managed to hit them.
Well they're really as competent as the American military Sure they've had some training, but really they're outclassed in tactics, equipment and leadership by the US and it's allies on the battlefield. They do have sheer tenacity and years of hatred to make up for it [editline]28th May 2011[/editline] then again they haven't lost yet despite how hard the US has tried
war doesn't look like any mainstream video game
are you some sort of war video game hipster
Reminds me of Project Reality. Or does Project Reality remind me of this?
Ignhelper deserves to be slapped for such an attrocious title.
I have to agree. I was too dumb at the start to even get such a name.
Those grenade launchers didn't strike me as OP.....
Am I the only one that couldn't stand that lopsided video?
Those gunshots are quiet.
That's because 99% of cameras can't properly record their volume.
Look at all that DLC they had. [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] I thought that soldiers were not usually allowed to post these videos for the public.
It must be beyond hell over there sometimes. Imagine your a soldier walking along with your squad and then suddenly this hits you.
but most wars nowadays mostly consist hide and seek, with the weaker side doing the hiding while the stronger side does most of the seeking.
Actually, this is specifically true for guerrilla conflicts, which is what we're in. It was the same for a lot of Vietnam and the US Revolutionary war. It's just how guerrilla fighters take on a larger military.
That'd be terrifying. What most people don't realize is how loud it actually is. If you don't have something protecting your ears and you fire an unsuppressed round, your ears are ringing for a long time.

manly hugs at the end were :3:
It's scary, that one of those guys sounded like he was just out of high school. Imagine trying to cope with this kind of bullshit on a daily basis. [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] Also inb4 people mention his "tactic00l" M16. It's not funny, getout.
That was cool
Am I the only one that couldn't stand that lopsided video?
Yes, because it was filmed from a helmet cam [editline]28th May 2011[/editline]
manly hugs at the end were :3:
they made me smile
Why does he have a Dot sight on top of his Optical sight?
Why does he have a Dot sight on top of his Optical sight?
He's tactic00l.
Why does he have a Dot sight on top of his Optical sight?
Because shooting at close range with a 4x optic isn't fun
Because shooting at close range with a 4x optic isn't fun
That makes sense.
I'm pretty sure that's Arma III. On a serious note though, respect to them.
