Curious, for the people still waiting on keys, does it say confirmed or validating?
On PayPal it says In Progress or Pending. On bestbuy.com, it says Order In Progress.
I use to work for Best Buy and knowing the managers at my store (and im sure most others) if you walk in and say "this game is cheaper on your website will you match it?" they'll do it.
It says pending through my Credit Union and Order in Progress on Best Buy's website. However, my total cash in my Checking Account just went down by one cent, so let's hope for the best here.
Im so fucking jealous of you guys. It's sold out
I'll gift somebody section 8 prejudice and DLC's for a key Lolol. Ordered one a while ago but nothing yet, pretty much expecting a refund message :<
I'm guessing I'll get a refund.
I'll give Bad Rats for a key. It's 40x overpay :v: My friend is willing to give "Global Ops: Commando Libya" for a key.
Okay, just now two of my orders are cancelled. Just waiting on the others.
Oh fuck me, now only 1 of my 5 copies is processing and not cancelled.
I guess I won't be getting a key. All my orders are cancelled now. Oh well.
Email said it was cancelled for me, but paypal is still saying it's processing.
Curious, for the people still waiting on keys, does it say confirmed or validating? [editline]11th July 2013[/editline] I hate to break it to them, but that's their problem. Not the consumers.
Actually it is the customer's problem if they are abusing the system.
Mine is still being processed. I hope it goes thru.
Just fyi, if you're in the EU they cannot legally cancel the order.
i'm late, somebody care messaging me a key?
Just fyi, if you're in the EU they cannot legally cancel the order.
You aren't eligible for it in the EU in the first place.
paypal says my payment status is in progress and the best buy site says my order is in progress :fingerscrossed:
Just fyi, if you're in the EU they cannot legally cancel the order.
Also iffy on the legality of forcing a refund if they have already taken the money from your account.
I'm not sure about keys already activated on steam dude. I'd wait for a better source than I.
It could be possible that the keys are revoked, similar to what happened with Dirt 3.
Just fyi, if you're in the EU they cannot legally cancel the order.
I wouldn't bet on that since the offer was not eligible in the EU.
It could be possible that the keys are revoked, similar to what happened with Dirt 3.
Except people paid money for the game, so Steam really can't just revoke them. Even if it is only a single cent that is money paid.
Except people paid money for the game, so Steam really can't just revoke them. Even if it is only a single cent that is money paid.
What if they refunded all the purchases?
It could be possible that the keys are revoked, similar to what happened with Dirt 3. Infact the only thing referring to other countries says that you can't be from countries like Iran, Cuba, etc.
Does anybody have a spare key? Seems I was late to the boat
What if they refunded all the purchases?
Than that raises the question of whether or not you have to take the refund. I mean it would be illegal if I walked into your house, took your computer but left money behind would it not?
Why do companies think they can force you to accept a refund? That's honestly like if I just went into the store bought the game, and then the took it from me and handed my money back saying "lol woops, we put the wrong price."
people are practically pirating this game en masse through an exploit. i think best buy is justified to force them w/ a refund
And then Best Buy backdates all the purchases to the original value and people get very upset.
Some guy bought 100 copies, if they do that he's screwed.
people are practically pirating this game en masse through an exploit. i think best buy is justified to force them w/ a refund
The keys are already paid for for NVidia.
Best Buy and all commercial retailers have the legal option, and usually do, to include a clause in their terms of service or policy statement that an shortcomings on the company's behalf like this require that you take a refund or credit. It's a standard and common practice, and is totally legal. They can always give you your money back, they can't take more money from you or simply not give it to you. In America, that is. Different in EU now.
Some guy bought 100 copies, if they do that he's screwed.
If they do that he'll get all his money back, and probably more because of the potential damage it can cause. Not to mention Best Buy will get hit with bait and switch and pay fines.
Looking at Best Buy's website, they only state they will refund you, doesn't say you have to accept it.
With how digital purchases work these days, I doubt you will be able to deny the refund and demand that you get the product. I've seen several times of incorrect price listings on websites that resulted in cancellations and refunds.
