Great job guys. Now the developers nor the publishers will get any fucking money for all of those copies. Have some fucking shame and support 4A (and DS to an extent). Games cost millions of dollars and thousands of hours of manpower and dedication, and a lot of you are going "woooh! almost free game!" This kind of exploitation is worse than piracy, if you ask me. [editline]11th July 2013[/editline] I mean seriously, I'm going through this entire thread and I see nobody complaining. Do any of you have any sense of morality or anything? It's obvious that it's a fuck up on the store's part and they should be able to rectify that mistake, don't pull that "it was on the store so i can do what i want!" bullshit, because there's no way anybody would sell ANYTHING that cost millions to create at a FUCKING PENNY less than a year after its release.
No the Devs get all the money that Best Buy and Nvidia already paid for the keys, only ones that lose out are Best Buy and Nvidia.
So I guess it didn't work for anyone then
No the Devs get all the money that Best Buy and Nvidia already paid for the keys, only ones that lose out are Best Buy and Nvidia.
pretty much this These codes were promo codes meant to be included with the purchase of a GTX 660Ti or some other Nvidia card, the only losers here are Best Buy and Nvidia. Mostly Nvidia is the loser since they're the ones who bought the keys to begin with.

Stop that.

I'd love a key! Hook a bro up if you have one
Aye, me too please.
Well best-buy cant disable the codes like what was done for dirt 3 because it was a fuck up, also anyone have a key, got stuff on steam i could trade or something :3
do you not understand how game retailing works?
some people simply are not reasonable, and it is not worth your time deliberating things with them for the tears from their butt will flow like a thousand rivers
That would be ridiculous if they nullified all the codes. It's a mistake on their part for setting the price to $0.01. People paid money for the price that was set.
to be fair, they could refund and to be fair, at most its 1$. I know they paid but, yeah.
eulas have a bit of power as long as they don't violate some specific consumer rights laws aka basically none in america so yeah, they'll cry and the court will force you if you don't give them what they ask for.
Consumer protection laws protect the consumer when the transaction is complete. They can not charge you again for it (unless it was a subscription and you agreed to it) or demand you pay more money. There is nothing they can do after they complete the transaction so they will have to eat it. They compared the issued keys database with those that were not issued and revoked the non issued keys. As this is a actual transaction, the laws prevent anyone from doing anything after the keys are sent out because money has actually exchanged hands. They can not revoke anything due to that fact and will have to just get over it.
Still says "order in process" for me. I ordered at about 6PM yesterday.
I missed the chance, but I got a few spare trading cards, and a little paypal money if someone reputable wants to make a small trade for a key.
Man I missed this while I was eating hotwings at some restaurant last night. Damn you dad for dragging me out of my precious sales and bestbuy messing up!
Oh damn.. I wish that I've seen this earlier :(
This game is at LEAST equal to Metro 2033, if not better.
This game is at LEAST equal to Metro 2033, if not better.
much better* more guns, more glory, more monsters, more optimization, etc.
Well I ordered 4 yesterday, and 3 have been refunded. Maybe there's hope for at least one.
A price on a website is an invitation to offer, and making the order is making an offer to purchase. The seller isn't obliged to sell it at that price. So anyone saying "courts will force them" or w/e is talking shit [editline].[/editline] From what I'm seeing they seem to be honouring one per customer though. That's nice of them.
At least most of us can save up for the DLC now :V.
If anyone wants to sell a copy to me, I'll gladly buy one for .50
This actually happens a lot. At one point you could preorder the xbox one from bestbuy for $5.00 rather then $500.00 (since someone wrote 500 and it auto put the decimal in). We caught that one before anyone got it.
Mine is still in process :suicide:

still says everything is in progress for me on both paypal/bestbuy.com
Over a day and still in progress, hasn't bounced yet. Maybe, just maybe I got lucky :D.
I'm all for exploiting deals, and I really don't mean to be a buzz kill. But come on, this is a poor Ukrainian dev that actually deserves the money for the game.
Yeh, I went ahead and bought it on steam cause I felt bad.
