I'm sorry that my skepticism that Wikileaks isn't absolute truth bugs you but that is my opinion.
NOBODY but you has implied that they're right 100% of the time, all we've said is that we don't have any reason to believe that they're wrong
NOBODY but you has implied that they're right 100% of the time, all we've said is that we don't have any reason to believe that they're wrong
I just asked the question if they release the key would you automatically believe the contents were true.
Will you guys keep your drama out of this thread? We want to hear about the website being down, not hear you guys squabble.
I'm not talking about the insurance file, you've pretty much been saying the whole thread that wikileaks isn't a reliable source
Well I'll say this, sometimes you just got to take some things with a grain of salt. It's like watching fox(redneck network) or cnn(Communist news network), it's not that the articles are not true, its the way they go by reporting it. Being biased with how they bring them up or explain them. Even though wikileaks just post these files and leaves you to make your own judgement on it. I still treat them just like fox or cnn, because the way they have gone by sharing these files and trying to gather all this attention in such a short time period.
I just asked the question if they release the key would you automatically believe the contents were true.
And the way that you worded it implied that you already knew the answer. And what do you think about the Reuters article, if this insurance file is fake why would any of that be necessary?
If something does happen, I wonder what the history books will say, that thousands of people downloaded the leaked documents? Kind of scary to think what happens when these get opened.
what how could world war 3 start in 5 days with the release of one file
I will wear a shirt that says this if it happens. I turned on CNN expecting something about wiki leaks, only to see "CNN Heroes" on. God bless CNN.

This has no bias to it. I really hope this turns out to be something important and not a virus disguised in 2GB of filler
The problem is fox and cnn read the documents and then give their take on them. This has no bias to it.
And would you care to explain why you disagree Carbon Knight? I really don't see how you can think there's a bias to unedited documents.
And would you care to explain why you disagree Carbon Knight? I really don't see how you can think there's a bias to unedited documents.
There is always an agenda. I'm leaving it at that. If I gave you 1 document out of 5 then you don't have the full story.
So how hard is it to crack aes256?
number of possible passwords 2^256
A device that could check a billion billion (10^18) AES keys per second would in theory require about 3×10^51 years to exhaust the 256-bit key space.
So if a computer could break a billion billion passwords per second it would take 2153693963075557766310747000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 years to break the password completely. The shitty computer I'm using can break 77 passwords per second. It's pretty intresting
The problem is fox and cnn read the documents and then give their take on them. This has no bias to it.
And yes thats what I said, but the way wikileaks has gone by to gather all this attention, the way they've gone by to post these files has made me not really want to take wikileaks to seriously.
And yes thats what I said, but the way wikileaks has gone by to gather all this attention, the way they've gone by to post these files has made me not really want to take wikileaks to seriously.
I honestly can't take you seriously after that
There is no end goal here. Nothing they have released does anything except potentially hurt people.
Uhh, no. A lot of the things they leak do a lot. In fact, at one point Poland's economy was turning to shit rapidly because of a problem with the banks. WikiLeaks looked into it, and it turned out that some corrupt people within the bank were essentially lending themselves money. WikiLeaks sent the documents to the Polish Government, and all was well. Also, it's been shown that absolutely no citizens were "harmed" by the documents or "tracked down" despite what the U.S. government tries to say. Even multiple European NATO generals (forgot which ones) have said that there have been absolutely no cases of names in the documents causing problems for named citizens/people in the documents. Sorry, GunFox, but clearly you haven't done any research or followed/read up on WikiLeaks. Not to mention you have no backing for your extremely vague remarks and statements. I do understand your concerns, though.
I honestly can't take you seriously after that
And thats perfectly fine by me, but don't you think it's fishy the way they've gone by gathering all this attention. Where is the end meet to this? Do you really just think their posting these files as saints trying to expose everyone that has sin in the governments? I believe there is something more dark going on here. And honestly I could be completely wrong on this idea, but has of now I just think this is one big ass conspiracy.
A lot of this thread's replies really show how most Facepunchers really know absolutely nothing about WikiLeaks and seem to assume it's an evil group of rich hackers with a secret agenda to leak files and cause wars. If anything, WikiLeaks can help the world. The U.S. government does a lot more evil than the little it does good for other countries.

Funny how that person rated me dumb. broke my automerge
Totally not true. It's obvious that Billy Mays is the person that runs WikiLeaks. I mean, look at this man.
Funny that no one really cares.
Man you must be a psychic you knew what I was going to agree to.
I see what you did there. In any case, don't assume everyone - or even most people - think the same way. (not toward rich)
I see what you did there. In any case, don't assume everyone - or even most people - think the same way. (not toward rich)
I'm finally glad someone was able to see past what I was doing! :D
Can't wait to read this stuff.
Why did they brief Norway? I guess there is something about Norway in those documents then?
Why did they brief Norway? I guess there is something about Norway in those documents then?
Norway doesn't do anything. Must be really bad then.

I was way too broad there, my apologies.
