I like Mennonites. They are always incredibly friendly, and make awesome furniture while still using electricity. There is this store in my town owned by one, he makes awesome hot candy.
Yeah there's one of them in Hunt Valley, MD, near where I live. Good stuff. Pennsylvania Dutch market.
Amish :colbert:
Can't have been me officer, I was milking the cows.
So...couldn't smell smoke, hear flames? Just my opinion.
No, that's kind of why her daughter had to run out and tell her about it. You can't really insinuate that she knew.
Does milking cows somehow make you oblivious to either smell smoke or hear things popping and cracking as a house is burning nearby?
Fires don't always pop, most of the time they're rather silent.
But normally you can smell a fire, and it smells pretty strong.
But normally you can smell a fire, and it smells pretty strong.
Yeah you're right, she was just having way too much fun milking her cows. Too busy to care about her home burning down. Such a silly thing to insinuate, I don't even know why Faze brought this up.
Well I guess we can't say that the cow kicked the lamp over.
wat
This sounds like something that would happen in The Sims...
reminds me of psychonauts
Hold on, I know being a hero is stupid and she could have risked her life, but If I had several kids I'd rather them live and I die if I manage to save them. The fact that she didn't attempt to save them shocks me most, extremely sad I know, and she probably panicked and didn't know what to do, but this whole story seems very strange to me, and I was honestly amazed she ran off to the neighbors to call 911 instead of trying to save her soon to be dead children, or what was left of them. poor kids, this just ruined my day :(
Not everyone goes illogical and retarded in the face of tragedy, or maybe she did it in a way that she was unable to think clearly [editline]9th March 2011[/editline] and thus not able to hero mode (and die)
It's sad, this couple had eight kids under 11 and no one to watch them while they worked far enough away from the house that the house could burn down and they wouldn't even know it. Remember, the mom only found out because the 3 year old had to come out and tell her. Dad napping in his truck! Jebus, would it have killed him to at least nap in the house? Wait...yeah I guess it would have, forget I mentioned that last part.
There's a story in Houston about a lady leaving a day care and she left something on the stove, and then the house caught on fire and 4 kids died. She ran away. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7996338
I just burned my kitchen down last week, got a pretty bad burn on my hand and a couple minor burns on my arm putting it out as best I could. Even small fires cause a shitload of danger in terms of heat and smoke inhalation, it's pretty freaky. Plus the smoke detector didn't go off and the only fire extinguisher in the house had no charge in it. That was also kind of freaky. Make sure you get your shit checked, kids.
I guess that doesn't happen every day
Fire? Eh, I'd imagine one happens at least once a day...
Fire? Eh, I'd imagine one happens at least once a day...
Sure but with 7 kids frying up to make things more dramatic you know
bad parenting
I don't want to underestimate your power of will but I am a bit skeptical about you fulfilling this if it actually came to it. It's sorta different imagining it and standing there, feeling the flames.
Adrenaline is a powerful thing.
Bad parenting?
Does milking cows somehow make you oblivious to either smell smoke or hear things popping and cracking as a house is burning nearby?
the smell of poop and the sound of cows mooing make another guess
Milking cows should be banned
That's horrible.
Milking cows should be banned
No having children should be ban, they might cause a fire that could kill cows.
