so she should just disregard all thought and responsibility and do what ever because every random person on the internet is totally well-adjusted ok
Exactly. You can't do something that is considered unacceptable by the majority of people and expect nothing to happen. Is it fucked up? Yeah. But that's the way it is, unfortunately.
Yeah, she should have shown a little of that thing that people of that age are infamous for not having.
those silent word card videos are so cheesy a very sad and tragic story nonetheless
The whole silent word card video thing is the only thing that keeps me from being 100% sympathetic about this story. Don't get me wrong, it's very sad and my heart goes out to her family and all, but I really wish this trend with depressed teens making these exact videos would stop.
I know this is going to sound wrong, but I'm concerned about why people were bullying her in the first place. I think society places a whole lot of pressure on "don't bully" campaigns meant to simply shame and belittle the bully, but it doesn't try and address why people bully in the first place. Most bullies are themselves victims of bullying. Is it mental illness that isn't addressed? Is it low self-esteem or abuse? As much as a person is disgusting for doing these heinous things that drove a girl to suicide, I think we need to address the actual causes of bullying versus simply blaming bullies as if they are the only ones in control of their actions.

This is the sort of thing that people with depression can't talk about, if they have to write it down to convey it I think that's fine.
i wonder if Dori would say any of this if it was a boy that killed himself for having a dick pic or a "weird' fetish or something similar?

It's a reason there is so much poetry and music about sadness and angst. It's shameful, embarrassing, and scary to share the most vulnerable part of yourself with the outside world. It's much easier to do it through the written word.
snip, double post errrrrrrooorrrrr
The internet is full of sociopaths, its her fault for using the internet! Okay then.
you're taking a risk any time you say or do anything online
If I would have seen this girl in real life I would have given her a hug. I don't care how absolutely terrified of talking to girls I am, someone like this deserves someone to actually care about them.
How did she kill herself?

Go do it!
Though for the record, it would probably be a good idea to ask them first. Especially if they don't know you.
Look, here's the thing. It is tragic she killed herself, and nobody deserves that kind of shit over something so inconsequential. But guess what, we don't live in a world where everybody can just go about their business. She should have taken thirty seconds to think that maybe showing her boobs to a stranger on the internet wasn't the best thing to do. She couldn't have foreseen that this would happen, but she could have realized that nothing good would come of it.
i'm not really interested in your life advice duddy i'm just wondering why you think it's bad to show empathy for people who ended up with something bad guess what, we don't live in a world full of perfect beings. we make mistakes and suffer the consequences for it. that's partly why we feel empathy, we can understand and sympathize with the situation because it's something we all go through unless your name is CreativeName and you call empathy a bandwagon which in case please sperg out in a thread that doesn't involve a dead teenager tia

I just cant believe people would bully a pretty girl like that just because of a picture. Thats just fucked up.

In all seriousness, it bothers me that people won't do or say anything until something happens. Most of them will make a post about it, feel bad for a week, and move on. Some people will really be affected by it and try to make a difference, and that's great. I'm talking about the dumb "RIP how awful," Kony 2012, bandwagoners.
so the way to fix it is to say "no don't care" obviously
Very tragic. RIP.
The guy was a horrible asshole no doubt. But no one seems to care that all her friends left her because this asshole had a picture of her. What sort of friends do that shit? Leave her over a titty pic? Some fucking friends.
i wonder if Dori would say any of this if it was a boy that killed himself for having a dick pic or a "weird' fetish or something similar?
uh, yeah? why wouldn't I?
Facepunch should hunt the bully down like we did with those kids who were bullying the old lady on the school trip. [sp] and make him pay for it .[/sp]
I just cant believe people would bully a pretty girl like that just because of a picture.
Though for the record, it would probably be a good idea to ask them first. Especially if they don't know you.
doing it all wrong.
Anyone who goes out of their way to bully someone across CITIES is fucking retarded. Holy shit. Who actually hopes anyone kills themselves and publicly let's the world know. I mean, granted, I'll be talking to my friends about people we hate and it's like "lol they just should kill themselves they're so annoying blah blah blah" but it's not like we honestly think that and actively make it our goal in life to fuck them up. And apparently it's all for showing her tits to some internet perv when she was 13. What.
Why was the whole topless photo a big deal anyway. Ohhh Noooo Tits. Honestly I don't see the fuss over tits. Men that clearly need bras don't get any flak over it
uh, yeah? why wouldn't I?
Because for some reason people have this idea that you hate men and think only women can legitimately be victimized.
Because for some reason people have this idea that you hate men and think only women can legitimately be victimized.
Only because it's true.
