Any sort of method that prolongs death just for the sake of "more revenge" or something like that is silly. Didn't the Abrahaic God say to leave wrath to him?
How big are the stones?
Pretty much.
Doing things this way, makes things worse.
Guys, Guys, Guys.... We all know that 'culture' trumps human rights.
right?
Is anybody actually saying that, or is this just a boogeyman argument? There's nothing okay about stoning people to death. That is not "culture," that's tyranny. That is a horrifying potential result of a government theocracy taken to extremes, much like many Christian/Catholic nations used to be, and just one more example of why theocracies of any flavor should be avoided and condemned. It is far too easy, given absolute power and strict religious conviction, to justify atrocities in the name of God, Allah, or whoever else. Many official state governments share far too much in common with literal extremists.
Like, I get a shitload of flack on this website for not buying into the paranoid narrative that Muslims as a generalized entity are evil and violent savages, and even I will agree full stop that the shit countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia are pulling is completely unacceptable, so who are you satirizing here?
Did the middle east, or parts of it, used to be liberal even by modern standards? I feel like I've seen weird photos of Iran and other place sin the 70's and women were wearing short skirts

Maybe the UN, or all the countries shipping weapons over there and turning a blind eye as long as there's a profit to be made. (That includes Germany, though I don't know how many there are exactly.)
The EU was quite quick to sanction Russia over what they did to Ukraine (though the situation is a little different there), and Israeli products from the occupied areas must be labelled iirc (which is imo the least they should do. I'm for an import ban.), but there are no sanctions whatsoever on Saudi Arabia afaict.

Yes, at least that one. (I think I know the photo in question.) I'm fairly certain this didn't apply to the whole country though, or it wouldn't have been possible for it to change to what it is now.
