The House is about to do the final vote on it...
Vote counter, can I get a vote counter?
Just started the final vote! Simple majority is needed to pass.
15 minutes to vote. In 1 minute we've got 100+ voted yes, about 60 no.
2 minuters in: 129 yes, 70 no...
3 minutes in: 143 yes, 79 no...
4 minutes in: 151 yes, 86 no (Most Democrats haven't voted mind you.)
5 minutes in: 153 yes, 89 no...
Halfway (7 and a half minutes) in: 163 yes, 99 no. Still 100+ democrats not voting because they are waiting for the republicans to all finish apparently.
10 minutes in: 169 yes, 102 no... 40 republicans still have to vote.
12 minutes in: 178 yes, 107 no, 30 republicans still need to vote. 100+ democrats still haven't voted either.
UPDATE: THE HOUSE IS APPLAUDING! THE SIMPLE MAJORITY HAS BEEN REACHED! THE BILL HAS PASSED!
Final vote: 174 Republicans yes, 66 no. 95 democrats yes, 95 no, 3 no vote.

[editline]1st August 2011[/editline]
is this a repub bill or demo bill
WHY ARE THEY ALL CLAPPING SO LOUDLY?
Jesus.
WHY ARE THEY ALL CLAPPING SO LOUDLY?

Apparently it has something to do with Senator Giffords.
Well now it has to do with passing the bill, but at first it was because of her.
Also, why so many no votes from Democrats? Well, actually, I can guess.
The bill has passed in the House! The bill has passed the House!

oooh, she's back. Pretty awesome.
[editline]2nd August 2011[/editline]
Hell yeah, passed!
The bill has passed in the House! The bill has passed the House!
Only matters if it passes the Senate
269-161, damn that's good.
Only matters if it passes the Senate
Absolutely, but the Senate has me worried a little less than the House did. We'll see though... This is still a big deal if you ask me.
Only matters if it passes the Senate
Pretty much guaranteed to, House was the only part we cared about.
I'd still like to know why there were so many no votes from the Dems.

I expect Glaber's going to show up soon...
This is the bipartisan bill isn't it? I've lost complete track of what they're voting on
Holy Shit, Giffords looks like someone fresh out of the Holocaust.

If there were so many no votes from the democrats, I'd have to think it would be more difficult to pass the Senate?
This is the bipartisan bill isn't it? I've lost complete track of what they're voting on
Raising the debt ceiling, afaik
NOW they're voting on the bill. Looks like a landslide victory.
Snip
If there were so many no votes from the democrats, I'd have to think it would be more difficult to pass the Senate?
Yeah, actually coming from House Democrats there were just as many no votes if not more than yes votes. Let's not forget the Senate houses the only Democratic Socialist in Congress, and he as well as a good number of other Democrats will be voting no. There may also be a filibuster.
A crisis averted, and now life shall continue as it did before. (Badly)
