Wow nice work letting these goobers in. I wouldn't even consider Dunbar qualified enough to volounteer in the school canteen.
Uh? They teach free enterprise but they don't call it capitalism? Why, because Marx used it or something?
Because apparently capitalism is derogatory. Their justification was people say stuff like "Capitalist pig" and shit. Free enterprise is a much better term, because it has free in the name. How can someone not be for enterprise to be free? Are you a fucking enterprise slaver or something?
and free enterprise as the cornerstone of liberty and democracy.
For fuck's sake do they really think we are still in the fucking cold war?
Study of Sir Isaac Newton is dropped in favour of examining scientific advances through military technology.
I'm sorry, but what does Isaac Newton have to do with anything? How is teaching kids about him tainting the children with liberal bias or whatever the fuck they are throwing a tantrum about?
but critics say that closer scrutiny reveals a not-so-hidden agenda
You seriously have to put it under closer scrutiny to reveal it's agenda?
Actually "the people's republic of communist texistan" would get them riled up more
Holy fuck I'm calling it that from now on. PRCT.

The People's Communist Commune of Communistan?
First one should be taught, second two should both be taught instead of one in favor of the other.
Everything else is damned stupid.
The second thing should be mentioned briefly when covering nuclear power, as in, also you can make nuclear bombs thanks goodbye.
What other merits does military research have?

Tons. Military research is a HUUUUUUGE part of human history. Most technology has come from the military, or from war.

Jets, rockets, radar, computers, walkie-talkies. The list really goes on.
[editline]08:03AM[/editline]
Plus the techniques and logistics used by the military are borrowed for civilian uses as well.

Rocketry. Space flight. Aeronautics. The internet. Medical advances. Biology. Chemistry. Physics. Engineering.
And they accuse of Obama being an indoctrinating Stalin 2.0?
This is very relevant. Don't think it's the same person but it's the same idea.

It truly scares me people like this exist.
They have the will to send us back into the dark ages and they don't even know it.
Texas is now dead to me.
Issac Newton is the biggest badass in space.
Goddamnit Texas.
"Escape from L.A." will come true with the whole new setting of the full state of Texas. hot damn! i see a long list of stereotypical generalizations of the american people situated in the south fitting like a glove on these inbred bastards!

The Internet. It was made as a means to launch missiles/deliver orders to every base in the U.S. simultaneously.
Rocketry. Space flight. Aeronautics. The internet. Medical advances. Biology. Chemistry. Physics. Engineering.
OK, I'll accept medical advances, and maybe a little bit of chemistry, but the rest of that is just Engineering, and it's not really important to learn that at school. Maybe in a history lesson, but other than saying, "Britain has tanks, tanks break down." or "In the cold war there were nuclear bombs", it's not really that useful.

You don't cover the history of the internet in science lessons.
The fact that their too cowardly to actually call Capitalism by name,
And that they support Mystic altruism while rejecting communism is exactly whats wrong with these people.

Also, calculus no longer exists in Texas
[editline]02:35AM[/editline]
No exactitude for you, Texas. Need to find a velocity? Gonna have to take an approximation over a finite interval.
TAKE THAT, TEXANS.
I think I'm in love with you.
It's not the fact that they're saying that the military has contributed to human advancement that's so fucking offensive, it's that they're implying that the military is the only and greatest way to improve technology.
And it wouldn't be if we didn't have assholes like these yahoos that are so fucking anti intellectual. If there was really public support for the advancement of knowledge, maybe progress would come from someone not directly pitted against someone else.

Engineering is involved in almost, if not everything you see around you.
And is far more useful than most of what is taught in schools.
The V-2 rockets developed in Germany led to the ICBMs of the Cold War,
So some fairly useful historical information is related to engineering.

Tell them Fiji invaded Alaska, and they'll do whatever you say.
I though schools were supposed to teach students unbiased scientifically approved information, instead of Christian inbred hillbilly bullshit.
Shame on you Texas.

I wanted to keep it at a level the average Texans could understand.
I thought that Texans being dumb was just a stereotype, but wow. Turns out they really ARE a bunch of retarded religious fruitloops.
well, fuck Texas then
I just read the entire thing, and I'm.. speechless. This is ridiculous, fucking ridiculous! They better not change a thing. This is just... there has to be something done to stop them. This can't pass, it can't.
And if it does manage to pass, hopefully schools outside of Texas won't follow through with it.
Bye Bye Texas, see you in Mexico.
This isn't weird in anywway it's just hillarious.

"buckle your seatbelt Dorothy. Because Texas is going bye bye!"
"nice one Jebediah"

ITT: stereotyping texans is obligatory for each post! show them they don't get to be dumb and expect it to go unnoticed!
Don't worry, Aronra will stop them.

Texas lives up to their stereotype.
California has the right idea, for once.
Oh please, everybody follow California's lead.
