This is good news.
Hell, it's about time
If this happens, and if the operations are stopped and troops are pulled out, then it will be a truly joyous moment for many. Let's just hope that shit won't hit the fan once we leave.
Finally!
Ok maybe not westernize, idustrialize, modernize, etc.
Its in the interests of the United States, at least, for the middle east to stay unindustrialized. The stronger their economies are, the more "independent" they become of the west. China is a prime example. It's become heavily industrious, and look how powerful it has become.

Even though I think this is good progress I will kind of miss the war :/
Even though I think this is good progress I will kind of miss the war :/
You miss hearing about hundreds of people dying and nations needing to recover for years after the war that has ravaged their lands?
-books-
Yea :20bux: says by the end of August, we're still there.
read the article there will still be troops there until next year, but they will be just supporting and training the Iraqi forces
We're never going to actually "leave". We still have troops in Japan and Germany.
.
read the article there will still be troops there until next year, but they will be just supporting and training the Iraqi forces
Oh, whoops, guess I should have. Wonder how that training's going, i've never heard anything too good about it.
We're never going to actually "leave". We still have troops in Japan and Germany.
...And? You've fought wars in many, many other places and not left bases there. Take Grenada and Panama, for example. And that's not to mention you fought far more nations than Germany and Japan in World War II.
Uh huh. And how long is this "support" mission supposed to last, anyway? How long until the last American boot is out of the country?
Uh huh. And how long is this "support" mission supposed to last, anyway? How long until the last American boot is out of the country?
we're still in germany and japan so i'd wager at least 70 years
we're still in germany and japan so i'd wager at least 70 years
Korea too. There's never going to be a real end, we'll just keep troops stationed there indefinitely to ensure the Iraqis always know who their real masters are.
Like invading it in the first place? Not one WMD found at all. At least Saddam got out of power, if that amounts to anything.
It does amount to a whole lot Saddam's reign was a huge strain on the entire world. WMD's were not found because Saddam had gotten rid of them and in all honesty due to an obvious American mistake we thought he was continuing to produce them. Saddam's regime had WMD's during and shortly after the gulf war. I'm not your stereotypical over patriotic American but I do believe that Saddam paid Syria to harbor and hide these WMD's during it's last inspection.
Like invading it in the first place? Not one WMD found at all. At least Saddam got out of power, if that amounts to anything.
Actually WMDs were found. :downs: There's a ton more too, but it's just buried in the sand.

I certainly hope so, I'm hoping we can get those POW guys out of there too.
Actually WMDs were found. :downs: There's a ton more too, but it's just buried in the sand.
no they weren't you cunt (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Hexxeh))

By huge strain I'm referring to his wicked regime and the Gulf war. If he were allowed to continue I do believe that the Middle-East would be in a worst predicament.

Oh, right, because they don't have any OIL. :colbert:
no they weren't you cunt
A fine example of immaturity, stupidity, and blindness to world events.
you're a joke what about saudi arabia? that place is as equally "wicked", yet we aren't aggressive with them because they cooperate with the united states?
Exactly they cooperate that's the way the world currently is. I'm not trying to justify actions I'm only trying to explain them.
If that's your criteria, why haven't we invaded North Korea, Iran, half a dozen African countries, and anywhere else with a totalitarian dictatorship. America just sends troops there because over there they have no law and terrorists can roam free and attack America. Not because they want to get in another country's business.
